With exceedingly higher prices than most places locally, this location has a staff that has ranged from outright ignoring me to being bluntly disrespectful. What stands out most to me, however, is their policy on buying cards, and presumably other products. To quote what I was told today, "We use Star City Games up to a certain point, and then we check ebay." I have never actually directly been told that a business is actively searching for the cheapest possible pricing to buy your cards from you, a policy I can only imagine came to fruition in the wake of the pandemic limiting local competitors from buying cards during times of hardship. Also factor in poorly storing cards and selling them at the same price regardless of quality, and it doesn't add up well. To the employee I spoke with today, a company selling a multitude of different types of products is not a reason to directly and deliberately buy cards for less than your provided asking price. Perhaps I wouldn't be so upset if I'd been initially told this, but every time I've come in about selling cards, I was ONLY told that Vintage Stock uses Star City Games to determine card buy prices. With this in mind, however, I'll go ahead and bite, because looking for pricing on Ebay took almost 20 minutes, most of which was for the two cards I brought in of reasonable value, which tells me that staff are directed to look until they FIND an ebay sale that is undercutting other sellers. Poor business practices, continuously disappointing staff encounters, for the most part, and general disarray and poor card handling is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband is an avid comic collector, and loves to build a good connection with a local comic shop. We have repeatedly given vintage stock multiple shots at being our go to comic shop, because nothing beats the experience of digging through boxes and finding issues you are missing for very inexpensive. But if you are visiting them for more than that I strongly suggest going elsewhere. Key issues, statues, gaming stuff, music is really convenient to find in one location but this company is over priced when it comes to vintage stock locations. Be prepared to stand in line sometimes for long periods of time while employees visit with each other or their friends forever. The employees and management apparently communicate terribly and are continuously changing rules or opinions on customer service issues. Three different people have said three different things on the same issue. One employee even going as far as vague threats when asked why I was told a different policy. We've never dedicated much of our entertainment budget to this store, and after repeated efforts and ridiculous customer service I highly doubt that they will get anymore. The only thing we will purchase from this company now is movies and it will be from their sister store right down the street. As far as comics though Nameless on Campbell has been far kinder on customer service, and not to mention you can often find better deals than vintage stock from the comfort of your own couch on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice atmosphere but the store is very cramped and there are a few staff members that make me feel unwanted. The store is clean but unorganized. Some of the items in the store are over priced or under priced for sale. I did meet this one person who worked there who helped me figure out Magic cards and how to play. It was the best form of customer service I had gotten in a long time. He was nice and polite and answered all my questions and suggested decks I could choose. (I am going blue and red btw. Some awesome cards in there.) Alas, I was broke and just wanted to know how to play and he was nice about it and I hope to see him again when I go up there to actually get a deck. I do suggest this place to go to if you want to get games or movies or cards as their prices are a lot cheaper than most with good quality stuff. But yet some of their stuff, as I said before, is over priced such as the stuffed pokemon toys. I picked one up to look it over and it was 30 dollars for it. I put it down as soon as I saw the price. Then when selling they actually are very cheap on that only paying half if not less to what they can sell it back to you for. It is better to get in store credit for what you are selling to them. Maybe even...
