Spent one night here in a camper van. There were three designated RV spots that were already taken by the time we got there, so we parked in the main parking lot near the bathrooms and picnic tables. There were PLENTY of electric hookups in that area that I was able to plug into. Across the parking lot there was also a water pump. I saw a couple of people pull up and fill some containers and drive off. I didn’t need to fill up on water, so I didn’t drink it, but one of my dogs did roll in something on his nighttime walk and I had to give him a bath in it and it seemed just fine. There were people hanging around the park all night, but they were quiet and did not bother me one bit. Also, I was pretty much doing the same thing so I couldn’t think that it was too weird for anyone else to be there all night. The bathrooms did close around 8 or 9 for the night, but they reopen pretty early in the morning. On the way out we stopped by the Kroger right across the street and got some breakfast and gas. Read moreI love to go to Roadside Park in St.Albans ! I have lived in or near St.Albans my entire life and this has always been available to me to enjoy. Regardless of whether I was putting a boat in the river, taking the kids to the playground, enjoy having a family reunion at their covered shelters, taking my noon time lunch to enjoy the outdoor quiet, taking a walk around the grounds for exercise or now during my retirement taking my little dog for her walk I have always found the Park to be well maintained, grass cut, bathrooms clean, trash picked up, plenty of parking and plenty of places to sit when you need. They have overnight parking for campers and the fenced in playground is always clean and well maintained. Come and enjoy the park like I've done...
Read moreTraveling through with a camper and happened upon this place last minute as a place to camp overnight. We've been frequenting a lot of parking lots so you can't really complain. This place has 3 large pull through sites with electric. Water, bathrooms, and a dump are at the entrance to the park. Campsites are at the back. The only reason I docked a point and just an FYI to anyone looking to stay here. We were the 3rd/last RV to get a site the night we stayed and unfortunately found out that the electric at our site (the one closest to the bathrooms/playground) doesn't work. Again it's a free campsite so how much can you complain. Just be aware if you have options before you get...
