My family drove 2hrs to come to this store. We went to many locations before and were not required to wear a mask, and were immediately berated about masks and the employee asked my children their age. Which I found highly inappropriate as they are minors. My daughters and chose to wait outside until my husband and boys returned but they got so upset and cried and decided they would wear the mask so they could see the store we ended up going in. But the terrible experience didn't end as my husband was looking to purchase a cult classic mask and the employee behind the counter continued to argue with us that the paint job on all similar masks were the exact same. Now if you collect you know that isn't the case...straight from the factory every mask is different. The paint might be better or bolder but we were told that wasn't the case. We looked for ourselves and decided the display was much better quality paint and wanted to purchase it. For $100, you would think there wouldn't be an argument....and there wasn't. The employee from the mask counter just took our mask to the front counter and continued to talk about us to her other employees until we came up behind her and she went back to her post. Complaining that "we even waited for her to take the mask down from the display". Which we did in fact do, to ensure we got the item we wanted to pay $100 for. Over all they won't get our business ever again. And they wouldn't have at all had they not been selling the one cult classic mask we have been searching for, for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJohnnie Brock's Dungeon is a great place to shop for all of your holiday, party and event needs. They have isles and isles of decorations, props, costumes and costume accessories for every budget. They have the biggest selection that I've seen thus far. My God daughter and I went this past Sunday afternoon because she wanted to see the costumes. Needless to say we played around in the store trying on costume pieces and being silly. There were props and spooky scenes throughout the store. I wouldn't take kids to the big scenes in the back as it may frighten them. There's a counter for costume rentals only and to try them on before renting. They have a counter that had fake blood, fangs and a lot of accessories for your costumes. The staff was nice, friendly and very helpful. They pointed us in the direction of where my 9 year old God daughter wanted to go. We had an awesome time even though we didn't make a purchase. Keep in mind that parking here can be a nightmare the closer you get to the holidays. There are about 10 spaces outside in front of the store, but by it being at the entrance to highway 44 it can create an issue. So be safe crossing the street there. Randall's liquor store is right next door and they have a bigger, safer lot where you can park. But like I said, closer to holidays parking a madhouse. So, get in early and make your purchases. This store is wheelchair accessible and the isles are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. The last thing I have is to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped by yesterday with my husband and boy howdy! I'm in love! We're new to the area and like to cosplay for conventions. I was a theater costumer for about a decade with heavy focus on makeup and effects and the Ben Nye selection is to die for! I haven't seen bulk liquid latex in a brick and mortar store in quite awhile and had quietly resigned myself to Amazon. But no more! I can finally support local again and I'm beyond excited.
They had a wide array of sunglasses for any occasion including some for a perfect Vash the Stampede cosplay for all my fellow anime nerds out there. There were aisles and aisles of wigs, rainbow suspenders, pride flags, and even a section just for effects. I suspect the fog machine liquid and other things in this section will be much bigger come Halloween but the selection was still pretty sizeable especially for this time of year.
There's also an adult section and I noticed there were plus sizes up to 3X on pretty much every adult costume on the shelves. I didn't get the chance to ask but I'm pretty sure you could ask the staff to order even larger sizes if need be. There were some quality pieces as well like velvet pirate coats and leather top hats.
The only thing I didn't see was shoes but at that point who even cares? There's costume jewelry and prop weapons right next to feather boas and an array of gloves. They've got everything else you can think of and I can't wait to go completely broke supporting this store...
