Being homeless, it was important for me to be able to finish my online work before the holiday, since my opportunities to get online will be very limited when everything is closed. And I was almost done, but then they started kicking people out half an hour before closing time.
Most places, when they say they close at 7, it means that they start kicking people out at 7. But apparently there's some libraries in the StL area where closing at 7 means that workers can expect to be home by 7.
And if you say something about it, this means they get to act extremely stupid in response. The security lady is an example. She is giving me a speech about how they close at 7 instead of 9 today because of the holiday. But I'm not complaining about the fact that you close at 7, I'm complaining about the fact that you're actually closing at 6:30! She tells me it wasn't her decision -, apparently oblivious to the fact that it wasn't MY decision either!
There is probably someone in charge somewhere who has NPD and is getting a thrill out of setting people against each other in ways such as this. And when an organization is run by someone with NPD, the organization itself can start to exhibit symptoms of NPD, and the members of the organization often exhibit situational NPD as well. So don't ever trust these clowns with anything important.
p.s. I certainly could not possibly care less about you fools wanting to go home, since I don't even have a home to go home to. But I am sure that you won't let that stop you from having a very happy...
Read moreEDIT: as you can see from my 1st review I have nothing to say but good things but tonight was a different story. A lady I don’t know her name but I believe she was a newer lady was very rude and would not let me print one page from my phone because they were closing which I get but it would not have made them stay any later at all. I went in at 7 pm, then the computer just goes off. yes it was 8 pm on the dot. The computer cut off before 8pm. but come on my one page that I needed to print was something very important . I get rules are rules and no I don’t want to break them. But some employees act like they can’t help a person out ever known and then. The workers were up in the front all talking so it’s not like they were standing at the door keys in hand waiting for me. I go in this location a lot and I doubt this women has been there long if so I won’t be going there any longer. But it is what it is . I’ll start going to the Hampton Library bc who “ she “ was she needs to learn how to have a little compassion. She could see I really needed this paper. I’ve heard another person make a complaint on a lady there and I bet money it was her.
1st Review- I gave 5 stars Love this location on south Grand. They always go above and beyond to help out people that ask questions. I also love the courses you can take online I believe it’s called Gale. At the end of the 6 week course you receive a...
Read moreOverall, my experience went well. The library was clean, spacious, and well-lit. Great facilities!
The reason, unfortunately, for only 2 stars is the staff sat at a table next to me, and they were having a discussion, which is perfectly reasonable. However, when they began to get too loud, I respectfully leaned over and asked them if they could lower their voices, which they did.
However, one of the gentlemen from their group later came up to me, as I was reading, and said something to the effect of, "Excuse me, sir, but talking is allowed in the library." I responded, "Yes, of course it is, but your group was getting loud." Surprisingly, he was about to say something else, completely ignoring the fact I just shared with him about the group getting too loud. However, I just stopped him and said, "Excuse me, I have to read."
He then walked away, apparently perturbed. Why did he have the nerve to pseudo-lecture me when it was HIS group that was getting too loud? Surely there are meeting and/or rooms where staff can convene, right?
Other than my experience with the young man, my trip to Carpenter...
