My Partner and I had date night at Brasilia Bar and Restaurant last night. It was an amazing experience. He made the reservations for dinner. Upon going inside the restaurant we were greeted at the door and asked if we had reservations. We did and we were seated by the window. The waiter was very attentive and ran down the drink menu to us for starters. He was very knowledgeable about the drinks and the pronunciation. My Partner did order a drink and I tasted it. I don't usually drink, but I wanted to try this being that it's a popular Brazilian drink and I've always wanted to go to the country. So this entire night for me was an introduction to some of the culture in Brazil. Then the waiter came back to let us know of the dinners of the evening which all sounded awesome, but we ordered from the menu instead. Again our waited was very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining everything we asked and didn't ask about. Did I say the waiter was awesome? Just a reminder 🎗️. We ordered an appetizer and our main meals. We tasted and trued each other's dishes and everything was very good. The only complaint I had was that my meal came with a lot of food that I'm eating at work today😁 This place is my Brazilian heaven until I officially go visit the country.

The ambiance was everything Brazil and I loved it. There was pictures and other artifacts along the walls of the restaurant. This place is small, but quaint enough for you to enjoy for a date night. For me it was romantic and I will be returning.

Keep in mind about parking in this area as it gets very crowded really quick. There's never enough parking up on Grand Blvd. We drove around the block and found a parking space a few blocks down from the restaurant. I keep saying they need some type of parking garage in this area as it's so popular. But keep in mind you may not be able to park in front of the restaurant. This establishment is wheelchair accessible as well. I didn't see any children and will assume that children may not be allowed inside. Call Brasilia to confirm before taking children with you.

Overall our date night was amazing at our little piece of Brazil heaven.

This restaurant is incredible for so many reasons. First of all, it is in a beautiful part of St. Louis. The area of South Grand is a great place to go to dinner if you're wanting something fun. However, I recommend Brasilia in particular. I went to dinner there on a Tuesday night. It wasn't too crowded and the staff gave us a warm welcome. The environment, as you can see in the pictures other people have posted, gives off a warm feeling and makes you feel at home. As for food, my group (5 people) got two orders of fried plantains and they were so delicious. If you've never had fried plantains before, this is a great place to experience them. Also, the 5 of us probably could have split one order and been satisfied, that's how many you get on one plate. For my entree, I got the Camarao ao Molho Branco. Essentially, this was shrimp in an olive oil cream sauce served with vegetables and rice. It was so good. The rest of my group loved their food as well. Most of them got feijoadas, and it was so much food that none of them could finish it. One friend got a dish that had a fish (I believe it was cod) with her meal and it was so tender and warm. Everything was cooked perfectly. My group and I were there to essentially evaluate the restaurant and will be writing a paper on it. We told the person we spoke with on the phone when making our reservation this, and they said they would make sure the head chef would come talk to us. When we finished eating, the head chef (and one who started the restaurant) came to our table and sat with us as if he was one of us. He was so friendly and willing to answer all the crazy questions we had to ask. He told us stories about his life, from growing up in Brazil how he ended up in St. Louis, and it was incredible to hear about. After our conversation, he gave us samples of the chocolate and vanilla flan (both of which I HIGHLY recommend) as well as a sample of a Brazilian soda. He was so generous and truly wanted us to experience his take on Brazilian cuisine. I think Brasilia is a terrific restaurant, and one of the few in the area with...

I really wanted to give this place a better rating. Let me be upfront, the food was great. The atmosphere of the restaurant is enjoyable and I could easily see this being a regular date night spot. The service and professionalism of the staff was the huge issue.

The big negative I will warn you about and advise you with, is that the servers do not talk to each other and they will screw you over with payment. I showed up with a 5-year-old and a 1-year-old who are both picky eaters, so I mentioned I would not be getting them food. A female waitress told me that it would only be $7 for my older child and $3 for my 1-year-old. I decided that was worth it because maybe they would find something they would like. Both finished dinner not eating any of the meat and barely any of the salad bar. When it came time to check out, there was a male waiter who brought a ticket out charging both of my kids 20+ dollars for their meal. When I explained this was not what the lady told me, they reduced the bill to $12 each but refused to honor what I was told. They confirmed that the lady told me incorrect information, but they still expected me to pay the new inflated price because somehow it wasn't their fault. Absolutely insane that this is the level of professionalism at the restaurant, that their own staff make such basic mistakes and then they refuse to do anything about it.

They have very little online information, so for what it's worth it was approximately $42 for the full salad bar plus meats brought to the table for an adult. The meats were great, with special notice to the lamb being phenomenal. The salad bar was absolutely killer, with plenty of hot food options on that as well.

The atmosphere was very cozy, my only real complaint is that the tables were very close together. If you are a larger person or you have children (like I did) you can struggle with the chaos of squeezing past people. Wasn't a big deal for me, but I could see it being a problem for others.

Overall a very good restaurant, I just hope they fix the basics...

This was probably the worst restaurant I’ve ever been in my entire life. As a professional chef, I’m very honest with my reviews and this one won’t be the exception. The following list of facts describe our experience: - The place was impressively dirty with a terrible smell. It’s not well ventilated and there were all kinds of residues on the floor. - No food safety at all: Everything in the buffet was cold. The breaded fried fish tasted like it had freeze burn and it was irregularly cooked. The Paella was sour (because of the incorrect temperature control) and horribly cooked, it was like a pudding. The picanha wasn’t even grilled! It was raw on the outside in a warm room! It looked like a thick carpaccio after it was sliced. (Cutting it that thick makes you lose money by the way, your gauchos need training). The Chicken drumsticks were dry. The feijoada tasted like it got burnt and they tried to cover that flavor. The plates for the buffet were dirty, stained. There was a HUGE pile of dirty dishes next to the buffet. - The price is absurdly expensive for what it is, for the terrible quality and experience, $32 per person? seriously? On top of that they make you pay gratuity! No one informed us about this ahead of time, there isn’t a disclaimer anywhere and they ask you if you want to add tip! - The guy with the ponytail, who we think is the owner, it’s a very disrespectful person. He approaches to your table and gives you drinks even when you tell him no. He insists on you and it’s very uncomfortable. He asked my wife if she wanted to have a drink with the chef when I went taking food from the buffet. He looked tipsy. I will file a complaint with the CSB of the city, my wife and I got very sick after eating there. Not recommended at all.

I had Brazilian cuisine twice, once at a friend's home and once at another restaurant. Let's dive in... We were pleasantly surprised by the large variety of tribute to Brazil in their decor ranging from peacock feathers to Capoeira paintings to sea shells. The climate inside was humid and tropical, initially liked it but as the night progressed, it was becoming a bit overbearing. The decor however was excellent and the servers very jovial and helpful. We chose the buffet - The hot food items were pretty good especially white sauce chicken, beef stroganoff, and fried Yuca & plantain. Were happy to receive skewer meats in which the Sirloin was excellent, but the lamb was a bit tougher, might've been older, but sauces given with it were great. They were orange-thyme and wine. Liked the wine one better. The Fejoada, almost a national dish although nutritious isn't flavorfully diverse. Which is fine, we live and learn. The seafood paella wasn't that enjoyable due to not being rich in beloved sea food items, it also looked and tasted overdone and stale. "After eating multiple cuisines quite frequently one develops an expectation and taste for great food." The dessert items were diverse- pies (apple, pumpkin), cakes (chocolate cream, coffee, blueberry cream), home made chocolate, melons and mango. But all of them looked bought out from somewhere and not fresh made. Lastly, the bill was excessive as it is given the food but, also a gratuity (20%) was pre added and they asked for a tip over and above. Pretty happy overall for the decor, servers, and food partly but couldn't be a 100% happy due to the other parts. Would definitely go back again someday.
