Urban Matter — Local services in St. Louis

By far one of my favorite local businesses for gift items. So many unique things from cool books, socks, cards, candles, soaps, furniture and more and more. Service is always warm, welcoming & informative. Prices are reasonable and if your looking for awesome finds for the four-legged family members we love sooooo much just head on over 2 (yes, two) doors and you'll enter an expanded space full of fun things for pets, children and friends who love jewelry, hats, scarfs and you guessed it....more and more and more.

My favorite items are socks with obscenity, Nag Champa soap and celebrity print by sticker book featuring greats such as Prince, Nina Simone, Beyoncé and more and...

I am so incredibly impressed with Urban Matter! Their U Matter curated gift boxes have been a light during this COVID-19 crisis. Mary was extremely helpful in selecting thoughtful items for a loss of a pet gift box, as well as a birthday box. Both recipients commented how appropriate and great the quality of items were. The process was extremely easy: providing a price point, a few details, and then Mary made excellent suggestions, or asked additional questions and gave some options. Not sure if the lady with short dark hair is the owner, but my friend and I were followed closely around the store by her and I can only assume it was because the color of my skin since no one else seemed to get her attention like I did. Then during check out when I handed my cash to her politely and in return she puts my change on my counter when my hand was out to receive it. DISGUSTING behavior from a grown woman and a business owner will make sure to tell everyone I know to not give this place business. Very classless.
