Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC) — Attraction in Statesboro

The only Indoor shooting range in Statesboro. In order to use the facility you bust be an approved user. To become an approved user you have to submit to a background check unless you are a LEO. They tell you the check takes a couple of days, however you should plan on 2-4 weeks for it to come back. The staff (all GSU students) can be a little stuffy while on the range. My partner and I have had to ask them to back up on several occasions. I understand the need for a range safety but not the need for some college kid to breathe down my neck while I am shooting. Overall it is a very nice range and they offer a multitude of various events for both firearms and archery. Sometimes the prices are a bit steep for thier user rates but not as bad as other places I have seen. It is a hit or miss kind of place, that is you either really like it or you dont either way it is still the only range not on private property...

Thomas Lewis was my private instructor and he was the best at teaching me on how to qualify for my POST training that I have coming up in the next five weeks. I am truly grateful to have him instruct me. He even researched the requirements and techniques that will assist me with passing my training. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to learn skills at the range. I legitimately enjoy this place. Staff is welcoming, hospitable, and relatively knowledgeable. Also, anyone that is military and/or police can forego the 3-5 day wait for the background check period.
