We’re in Steamboat every year in winter to ski but this year we visited in August, also. The secret, wonderful gem of Steamboat is the Yampa River Botanic Park, and this is from someone who is a gardener and has visited many public and private gardens. Obviously, the time we visited the garden was at its peak, so absolutely gorgeous. But I have never seen such a large garden so well-maintained and cared for by a group of volunteers who have to absolutely love this place.
