I'm going to start with what we encountered when we checked in. We stayed in Bronze Tree 303. ALL of the lamps (there are no ceiling lights) and the recliner, which requires electricity to work, were unplugged. So it was as if nothing worked lighting-wise. The Master bedroom had the window-side bedside table pulled to the opposite end at the corner of the bed, with the mobile air conditioner on it, completely blocking the way around the bed. And due to this, there is no lamp on the bedside table. It's a very dark bedroom. The lamp on the wall on that same side did not work. Neither did the TV or cable box. This was because, guess what, THEY WERE ALL UNPLUGGED. Why?? I plugged the lamp, tv and cable box back into the power strip, and still no power! The power strip was apparently non-functioning. It took a considerable amount of time to troubleshoot all this. I removed that power strip and took one from the living room. I put the AC unit on the floor and moved the bedside table back to where it should have been just so I could walk around the end of the bed. Again, though, no lamp, so dark over there all trip. The mobile AC units require that they have ventilation to the outside, otherwise, they blow hot air out the back of the unit in the room while some cooler air blows from the front. They cancel out. Worthless to have as AC when not hooked up properly. The outdoor connection ducting was sitting on top of the dresser. We used it in fan mode the whole trip for obvious reasons. On top of this, the ice maker did not work. Water is hooked up to the fridge because it dispenses that just fine, but there is a fault with the ice maker. Fine, are there ice trays? Cheap, easy to furnish ice trays? Of course not. I read the review from July that included your response to that person who also pointed out the same thing, and Retreatia's response stated you would remedy it for future guests. Guess what didn't happen? No ice tray, and such a simple task. It makes Retreatia's response all the more hollow. In the kitchen, no coffee filters to go with the Folgers left by the coffee pot. After rummaging around, we finally found some filters stuffed in the highest cabinet above the microwave. The owners have apparently decided to add a foam top to the master bed, but Retreatia's fitted sheets are woefully inadequate in depth to accommodate the mattress. They rode up and off the mattress every night. Attention to details like these is indicative of an internal training and attention problem with your company. We experienced some similar sort of issues at Timber Run with Retreatia in January of this year as well. It's just disappointing to pay such premium prices then have so many details ignored or overlooked. The kitchen of this unit was well stocked. The unit was generally comfortable, but the lighting situation in all the rooms is absolutely below par. It is incredibly dark with low watt light bulbs--light bulbs!--which can EASILY be replaced. I don't understand it. Views were nice and we slept well. And the elevator worked. If Retreatia had managed to get the basics right, this would be a 5-star review. Management needs to improve training of staff and communication and follow-up with owners in my opinion. One does not get what they pay for...

Save your time and money! There are plenty of other professional companies in Steamboat to book through.
I will attempt to keep this review brief, but there were many problems.
First of all, we showed up to the unit and there was dust everywhere, coffee grounds in the coffee pot, potato chips on the floor, can wrappers and smashed candies on the floor, and togo containers from the previous guests. Our check in was on Saturday. We called retreatia on Saturday, no response. We called retreatia on Sunday, no response. We called retreatia on Monday, no response. We had to physically sit in the retreatia office and wait for someone to acknowledge us. Once someone spoke to us, she said she needed to "look into it." This was at 2:00pm. She got back to us at 5:00pm and offered to send a maid the next day. That's right, never mind the fact that we had to pick up other people's trash in the middle of a pandemic, and then sleep in filth for three nights and four days, the best they could do was offer to have it cleaned two days before our check out date.
Now, under normal circumstances I would have accepted the offer to clean. We stayed here in August 2020, during the COVID pandemic. Retreatia's website promises "contactless" cleaning. In other words, their policy is to thoroughly clean the unit 24 hours in advance so that no one else is in the unit for the 24 hours prior to the guest check in. So, not only did they not provide a clean unit, they are also refusing to comply with the COVID policy of separating the cleaning crew from the guests. We are forced to put ourselves at risk for them to comply with their own policy.
So, in short, not only was the unit disgusting, but the management is completely unresponsive. We have spent hours of our vacation trying to get a hold of them.
Beyond the substandard cleanliness, the fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling. Also, the night after leaving Retreatia's office, we went back to the unit there were BATS in the unit. I spent hours on the phone with pest control to find out that they were living in the ceiling. This unit was not even ft for human habitation.
For a company that is "dedicated to their guests" this response was pathetic.
Don't book here unless you're willing to spend your entire vacation arguing with Retreatia. Even after hours of arguing, they've refused to provide any reasonable accommodation (another unit would've been acceptable). So, all in all. Retreatia has taken our money and our time. We will have to book a new place anyway.
Truly despicable customer service. Breached their own contract and fraudulently offered a unit they...
Read moreSimply the Best Places and Best People. I am not the biggest author of reviews and certainly do not throw comments around, BUT in this case I had to. My family and I have been staying with Retreatia for many years, 7 and counting, and I think that they are the best choice for any holiday in Steamboat period! Victoria has been like our other family for years, the one you go visit a couple of times a year. She always finds the best places to stay for us and there has never been a single issue. Here is what you can expect and exactly what they will deliver: 1) A Home Away From HomeThese are not just condos, they are comfortable and in the perfect locations. We always focus on home and we worry about what the sofa feels like, how quite the properties are, how accessible the place is and the comforts of home, pots, pans and so on. They deliver every time. 2) Customer ServiceEvery call, email, text and message has always been professional and honest. They never say anything that they do not deliver upon. They have always kept their word and made memories for us every time. 3) Clean PropertiesWe have stayed in 11 properties and 19 different condos over the years and every single time we are impressed. At Christmas there is a tree and it is home for the week or two. Thanksgiving is amazing, always festive. We just love being able to bring our luggage and we have no doubt that the property will be perfect for us. 4) Amenities Beyond ExpectationHot Tubs, Saunas, Pools, Paths, BBQs, you name it, it is there and ready to go. We always have storage and love that we have anything we need from top to bottom. 5) Better Than the OTHER Guys!We have done the Hotels, VRBO and AirBNBs and failed every time. We will never make these mistakes again. There are no added costs, no loud noises through the walls and we get what we want EVEN shuttles to get us around. We go skiing, they drop us off and pick us up. We go downtown, they are there, it is crazy. 6) ExtrasThink about this one for a second, we wanted lift tickets for 218 each and they cost 154 through Retreatia. We went to rent our equipment and it was 383 the week and with Retreatia it was 221. Who else does that? So, the bottom like is this, IF you choose Retreatia, great job and you will never regret it. IF you chose someone else, don't worry, you can call Retreatia next time when you are thoroughly disappointed with your...
