Bought two bookshelves at the store and they were out of stock (and I don’t have a large vehicle) so they were being delivered. Gave me a date for delivery (August 12) and said they’d call ahead.
They delivered them on August 6th with no call, no notice. The delivery person left them outside in the rain. Didn’t even ring the doorbell. One of the units had a big gash on the box that went through to the inside and the unit inside was damaged. The other one had some damage on the end.
I called the store - they had me call the 800number. Called and they said they’d pick them up and refund me. I saw the credit pending for my credit card so I assumed everything was ok. Two days later I got a voicemail saying they were cancelling the credit cause they “had proof of delivery”. Yes I know they were delivered… I need to return due to receiving them damaged - or did you not listen to anything I said??
Called back and spoke to another clueless person. Re-did the credit to my card and said they would be here on August 14 to pick them up. After waiting until August 19, they never showed up, never called, and removed the second credit to my card.
After this nonsense, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I had to borrow a friends van to take them back to the store. They had trouble figuring out how to do the return because of the order status probably being in limbo because of the morons on the phone. The only saving grace was that Rob at the store was professional and helpful and did what he could to try to fix the problem as even he realized how everyone else dropped the ball.
Took ANOTHER 3 DAYS to get the actual refund.
Honestly I could care less about some $300 bookshelves. Nobody has time to deal with your ineptness and carelessness, and I will never shop at Office Depot again.

Read moreThank you Derek Biernacki (Asst. Store Manager)for helping me with returned item that I purchased online without a receipt(also can't find an email yet). I was only able to show the cashier an order number from my screen shot that ordered on July 25th. The cashier wasn't able to give me refund to my credit card. She was about to give me a store credit that I didn't want it. She said because I didn't have a receipt!! I also tried to find a confirmed email from Office depot from my cell. I can't believe Office Depot doesn't has easy return policy even she checked my ID & checked the order number. It should have enough to prove it or show on her screen. She said didn't show on her system. Not everyone need a store credit & purchased just 14 day! She called a store manager.. DEREK came and did checked from my phone number and print out my ordered then was able to give me full refund. Thank you again Derek to making the return easy and simply as...
Read moreQuickly dismissed... I came in to the print center. When I walked up to the counter a young girl asked me what I needed. I held up my package of labels and asked to have some labels printed for my business. She quickly said that "we don't print labels". I looked at her puzzled. I explained that I have been getting my labels printed at the 16 1/2 mile and Van Dyke location for the past 6 years. Now that store is closed. She said that it is against store policy to print labels because they can get stuck in the printer and that the store was breaking company policy. It felt as if they just don't want to help and were running with the excuse. I have the correct labels that I have been ordering from Avery (laser) that are made for the printers at Office Depot. The files are on a flash drive. It takes 3 minutes of their time to do what I needed. Just...
