One of the Columbia Gorge's hidden gems. Want to spend the day in the gorge enjoying the sites, but skip the crowds. Consider a visit to the Skamania/Stevenson waterfront. They have a nice little interpretive trail with signs explaining several aspects of local human and natural history. The views of both side the gorge are panoramic. It is wonderful jumping of point for exploring downtown Stevenson. There are a couple of great spots for a picnic, and even a few hidden coves you might just get to yourself. There is also a restaurant and distillery. There are bathrooms and changes stations on both the East and West ends. There is a paved walkway that goes along the shoreline and out to the pier where the Stern Wheeler docks for folks aboard to disembark and visit the Stevenson waterfront and nearby establishments. The Skunk Brothers have a brewery with a tasting room and there are places to grab a bite if you are interested.
