I usually enjoy shopping here. The store is clean and well stocked and the employees are usually helpful. On my last visit I only saw one employee. She was behind the closed registers dealing with some boxes of inventory when I went to check out. Only the self checkout was available. I only had two items and don't mind the self checkout, but one of my items wouldn't scan. I tried several times but it kept producing an error. When I turned to ask for help the employee had disappeared. There's a sign on the regular checkout counter that says "ring bell for help" but there was no bell near the sign. This all transpired in less than 5 minutes, but at this point all three self checkouts were experiencing errors and there was a line building up and nobody could see the apparently -only- employee. I left the self checkout to look for the bell and found it taped to the clerk's side of one of the registers. (How does that make sense? Shouldn't there be a bell at each register in a spot where the customer has access?) I rang the bell, the employee came running with a disgruntled look on their face and finally fixed all the registers.
I'm not necessarily upset with the employee in this situation even though it did appear she was intentionally dodging customers, but for all I know maybe she wasn't feeling well or she needed a restroom break. If she was really the ONLY employee in the store that's pretty crappy management. It's not a small store and it was a Saturday so there were quite a few people there. It doesn't bode well for a newish store if you're already cutting corners on staffing.
Honestly I am surprised people didn't just start walking out with the stuff that wouldn't ring up. It took her four tries to get my item to show up even entering the...
Read moreI experienced discrimination at this store from the barely legal employees working here who think it's alright to make rude comments about customers and harass them. I am a huge Daiso fan and have shopped at almost every daiso in the entire state of California and this location is THE WORST one out of all. The employees are rude and stock during peak hours. This is a big No No in retail. So if harassing your customers. Sadly it's their AGE and their nationality that is the culprit! Usually Daiso hires POLITE people who are usually Japanese and show deep respect to the customer. However the children they employed do not care to show any Japanese custom or decorum to the customer. What's the point of going to a Japanese store if you are going to be dealing with Rude American Customer service? People come into Daiso to experience a little bit of Japan but that doesn't happen when you employ rude kids that are still in high school or behave like they are still in high school. Daiso PLEASE FIRE YOUR ENTIRE STAFF (MANAGER INCLUDED BECAUSE THR CULTURE IN A STORE IS INFLUENCED BY THE MANAGER) and get yourself employees that are well versed in the Japanese ways. Also, the whole stocking during peek hours+days is a HUGE problem. Can't even walk through the isles! I will be making a complaint and will next time I come into the store will be taking meticulous notes and video to support my complaint and submit it all to the Daiso Headquarters. This service is UNACCEPTABLE and must be corrected. Being the WORST LOCATION IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF CALIFORNIA is NOT something you want to...
Read moreGreat selections like the Bay Area. Though, I have an issue that the scanners are very sensetive. And it kept double scanning my items, even when I lightning speed my item from far away to scan and then move away from the scanner, it still double scans. The worker had to "void" the double scan items multiple times. And Also now, I realized I had 1 item still double scanned that I did not noticed. An extra plushie for $12. So I'm going in today to get that sorted out.
rdit: got it sorted out c: we spent about $170 in 2...
