My sister and I love the 88 Bao Bao chains so when we found out Stockton has one now, we were SO excited!! We don’t have to drive to Elk Grove or Sac for Xiao long Bao anymore!
Anyways, food was great. Only thing was that I would give the wonton soup 3/5…. It was just dumplings in a salty-ish soup. No bokchoy or anything. It was our first time ordering it so we didn’t know what to expect but yeah. Overall, food was 5/5
Service was fast and easy. We probably got all of our orders on the table in about 10-15 mins.
The ONLY thing that sucks is that it’s so hot in there. Especially in the heat wave, it’s so hot. I don’t think they have AC. They had a giant fan blowing in the back but it made no different and only blew hot air in your face…… Maybe in the future they’ll fix the AC situation bc it gets super hot especially since they have an open kitchen. All the heat from the kitchen just flows right into the dining area.
Overall, love this place. It did not disappoint in terms of food and service which is what I expect...
Read moreI've heard of this place and asked a friend to go with me to try it. I'm from San Francisco, so I'm a bit of a food snob. Prices were a little high, but not empty-the-wallet expensive. Cucumber salad and beef roll is a must! Cucumber salad had great crunch and good garlic flavor. Beef roll was crispy, sweet, and savory. All other dishes we tried were meh. Not terrible, but either bland or not worth to order again. Portions are quite big, so you'll get your money's worth. Water is a "help yourself" situation. It threw me off that their water didn't taste like water, but it was cold and lemon-y. AC is on so great for how hot it gets in Stockton. They hand make the dumplings, so good for them. I'd definitely come back...but not for their ramen. Coming back for cucumber salad and beef rolls. Willing to try some items we didn't...
Read moreEvery time I've come to this place, everything is cooked extremely fresh and is served straight off the stove. This restaurant requires you to order first and then sit down to eat if you plan to dine-in. I've tried the 88BaoBao (since it's part of a chain) in Dublin and even though they serve dumplings at both restaurants, they have their own distinctive menu items. The chefs prepare and cook the dumplings differently if you were to compare the two restaurants. I would say that the 88BaoBao in Stockton has a better selection of dishes when it comes to noodles, and my favorite dish especially is the noodles with chili oil. I love the shumai (shaomai on the menu) because they are always so flavorful every time I've...
