The Lageret — Attraction in Stoughton

As a vendor in the wonderful Wisconsin wedding realm I cannot praise The Lageret enough! -- This venue is one of the most sought out and stunning venues in the state!

Why that is very evident - It's the perfect mix of historical charm, modern industrial and rustic - All while still preserving the historical architecture of this old factory.

When it comes to service, I truly think this team is unmatched. They are willing to go above and beyond for not only their couples, but vendors as well!

When it comes to the opportunity this place offers photography wise, I always say " when you invest into a venue that is already so beautiful on its own, you already have a gallery above many " .

The getting ready suite has all the space and amenities one needs with plenty of natural light for getting ready images. The lower area suite is also spacious and has tons of character for unique details. PLUS - they are located on separate levels so staying out of view of your soon to be spouse is effortless.

The building itself provides unique backgrounds for photos as well as the area around it - making your traveling for portraits minimal or non existent. Staying on site or nearby is easy here - and saves $$ on transportation costs!

My favorite aspects of this venue are the spaces they can provide. There are 3-4 main areas that can host your cocktail hour, ceremony, dinner and dance. Leaving no awkward flipping of rooms for your guests during transitions of the day. Everything is very seamless and has flow.

I had my wedding here on May 11, 2024, and it was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. From the first visit, when we saw the different spaces for the different parts of the day, the gorgeous wood everywhere, the beautiful walls, we knew it was going to be the place we finally picked.

With flowers and bar service provided as part of the venue, as well as a calligrapher they work with for the entry chalkboard that we were able to commission additional pieces from, it was many fewer things we had to try to work out on our own, which really lowered our stress level for the day. They were responsive and communicative with our questions and made sure to add the details we wanted with flowers, with ceremony decorations, and with everything else we wanted or didn't want.

While it's definitely not a cheap venue, since you have the whole building for the whole day, you also have the whole building for the whole day instead of having to stress about getting in and out during a particular window during the day or night. It was also great to be able to leave my car there overnight, take the shuttle to the hotel, and get taken back to the car in the morning with no issues.

My wife and I had our wedding at The Lageret on Memorial Day weekend. Jamae, the owner, provided us with the venue, flower service, and bar service.

Going with Jamae for all of these services was the best choice we made in the wedding planning process. The venue was stunning, the flowers were beautiful (and exactly what we wanted), and the bar service was on-point. While we had some hiccups at our wedding with other vendors, everything Jamae and her team touched was perfect.

When we first signed our contract with The Lageret, the venue was not offering a bar service – that had to be provided by a third party. Between signing the contract and the wedding date, the venue obtained a liquor license. Jamae understood that this put us in a tough position: we were required to use The Lageret's bar service, even though that wasn't a part of our initial contract. Because of this, she offered her bar service to us at an extremely generous price, definitely below market value! Even though this was likely a financial loss for her, we really appreciate how she handled the situation, and we think it speaks highly to her character.
