I have never had a problem with this clinic until May 14. I have been taking my animals to stow veterinary hospital for 4 years. At the hospital they have always been honest, caring and willing to work with you financially if needed and really compassionate. I have used stow vet clinic on darrow rd and 59 a few times for check ups, shots well care exams. The hospital is wonderful and looking back, I should have just made an appointment there, as I would have never been treated unproffessionally like I was at the stow vet clinic. Also the incompetents of the staff. I,made an appointment at 942 am for 5pm that day. My dog sanchez, he was falling down hill fast. He was unable to eat, he kept throwing up, and his health was failing as I believe he was in congestive heart failure. My husband and I knew this would come and we wanted to make sure our beloved pet was, comfortable in his translation as he had a 5-6 heart murmur and he was not doing well. The clinic said they didn't have an appointment which was, confirmed that morning. The girls at the desk suggested we take him to metro. They also asked which number I called. I told them and the girls at the intake desk said that was an Akron phone number. I called the number in the office , then one of the girls answered the phone. So I did dial the right number. Instead of taking accountability and admitting they made a mistake, they tried,to pass it off like we had just walked in without an appointment.,The girls at the front desk then said, we can see if we,can, fit you in and if the doctor will, see you. Meanwhile my dog is throwing up, scared and lethargic. So we,finally get to,see, the, vet. The vet should have looked at his history and she would have known his heart condition. She wanted to run all these tests, when my husband and I,just want to,make sure, our dog wasnt in pain, we wanted,to make him, comfortable, so we could take him home, so he could be with us while he passed away in his home, and not in pain. So the vet gave him a shot to stop him from, throwing up( which did help). As,we knew Sanchez was passing away. She also gave us something to increase his appetite and for diarriha. We go to check out, my husband goes to the car with Sanchez, and Sanchez was getting sick and we wanted to go home. They made me wait almost 10 min to get my bill ready. The,girl at the, check, out said, well the normal, office visit is $51.00. The emergency visit is really expensive so we will charge you somewhere in between, for being able to fit,you in. I Almost lost it as the money wasnt the issue. The issue was, I,had made an appointment earlier that morning, they confirmed my appointment, I show up at my appointment time, to be told that they didnt have an appointment, that I had called the wrong number, which I recalled in their office and one of the desk clerks answered the phone after telling me it was,an Akron phone number. Being told they may be able to "fit me in" and then wanting to charge me more than the regular office fee for their mistake and not taking accountability fir their mistake and doing what it takes to make it right. The girl said" oh I'm not authorized to make that decision. I told her,you had better find someone to fix this and make that decision that I,shouldn't have to pay,for someone else's mistake. Money wasnt the issue. It was the way we were treated at such a hard time as,we were losing our,pet and these people had no compassion and wouldnt fix their mistake. Also while I'm waiting to pay my bill, my husband is out in the parking lot and can,see through the windows that these young girls working the desk were laughing, and doing everything, But their jobs while I'm standing up front waiting to pay my bill with my sick dog and husband in the parking lot. I ended up paying the regular office fee plus the, medication. I am very upset to be treated this way and for,my,Sanchez to be dismissed like this. When Sanchez was having bowl movements on the floor, barley being able to walk, these girls were grossed out and screaming down th hallway saying,, see...
Read moreI really wish I could give them five stars. The best thing that I've experienced through this clinic is the in-office care. The people are loving and kind, and the veterinarian is one of the most knowledgeable, loving, and compassionate people I've ever met. But the reason that I'm not giving them five stars is everything. After that, the aftercare the virtual communication. The phone communication is bad to the point that it's dangerous to your pets. I brought both of my cats into establish care that was determined that one of them had a UTI. Antibiotic medication was prescribed. Antibiotic medication was prescribed. I continue to give the antibiotic medication for the time period on the bottle. Very quickly after I noticed that the symptoms were starting to return. So as soon as I picked up on that I called the office and explained that the same exact symptoms before she was on the antibiotic are coming back. The person whom I spoke with took the message said they would send it to the doctor and that they would get it back to me.. two days later I still had not heard anything. At that point in time from my cat's safety I had already started giving her the antibiotic again because she was suffering. I had to chase them down on the third day via the phone constantly calling them constantly trying to explain the severity and the importance of the issue. Finally, 5 minutes after they closed on the third day they explained that I needed to stop giving her the antibiotic so that they could do another urine test. So I did and immediately her symptoms got much much worse. I brought her in 3 days later to get the urine test done and waited another 3 days to get the results. I start chasing them down again because I'm leaving the state for a family event and need to know what kind of treatment she's going to have to make her feel better. I then have to chase them down again and explain what's going on. I finally get a call back in which they say the wrong urine test was sent out and they only got partial information. Could I bring her back in that day to get more testing done and then when they get the results they prescribe medication. It would likely take another 2 to 3 days for the results to come back while she'd be suffering through the UTI. I had to chase them down again to get them to give me something to at least get her going. Though. In the end they did say and did prescribe an antibiotic and did say that when that course of antibiotics is done they would like to see her 7 Days later to test again and that they wouldn't charge me for it. That I am not too...
Read moreSo far this vet is the best vet I have ever been to. They offer soooooooo many different treatment options for your pets and we're very helpful with finding the best treatment for my dog within my price range. They also offer payment plans to your needs.. My dog had an ear infection AGAIN and the vet came in the room and sat down on the floor with us to give us a run down of what was going on, she spent a very long time going through my daily ruitein with him and what I feed him and so on. After we went through every possibility we came to the conclusion that my little guy has food allergies and it could possibly be beef. We decided to change his diet and restrict certain treats and then this wonderful god sent woman spent 15 minutes thoroughly rinsing my dogs disgusting ears out. The entire room smelled awful after she was done but my dog love her even after all of that and she never once lost her smile and happiness to help. Very greatful to have found such a wonderful vet and I would recommend to everyone to switch if you are having problems with your...
