Although I wish I could give our venue a top notch review, it's a bit unrealistic. However, I guess I can manage to evaluate our experience based on three separate considerations. First, the venue itself. Although the lounge ended up being the perfect size for our 50 person reception, I was a little disappointed at the original presentation. We planned our wedding from out of state, so the first day I got to see the venue was the day before our wedding. Though it was perfect size and turned out to be beautiful, there were dead bugs everywhere inside and several dead animals outside in the ceremony area (that still were not cleaned up until an hour before the ceremony)and took a little bit getting used to - but our visions were acheived thanks to the help of Jodi.
Second of all, communication with this place stinks, at least with the owner, Jade. Not only was she rude and unresponsive on most occassions, there was a lot of miscommunication - from the rentals to set up. For example, my bridal party and I were told we could set up our decorations and then told we had to take them back down because they had a party. When my bridesmaid tried to explain that we were given the okay, Jade responded, "I'm the boss and I say what goes." On the flip side, Jodi was a dream to work with. Not only was she super helpful with setup and last minute communications, she also continuously checked in on us and helped us through all the mishaps. If it wasn't for Jodi, I wouldn't have been able to give the consideration I did for our review.
Finally, as I mentioned, the rentals were a bit disturbing. When we rented the "basic ceremony chairs," we were under the impression that they were the ones featured in all the cermony pictures (basic white). When we went to set up, we found them all rusted and filfthy - not to mention we were told they would be set up and taken down, however two of my bridesmaids set them up merely hours before the ceremony. My husband and I decided to "upgrade" to something that wasn't completely disgusting, and it cost an extra $70. All I'm saying is verify what you're renting before you rent it.
Overall, our day ended up being perfect despite the mishaps. As I mentioned, Jodi was the one responsible for saving the day - if it wasn't for her I don't know that we could have been...
Read moreOur Esplanade Signature Event was here. Our bus was 20 minutes late thus, we were late to the event. They were supposed to have welcome cocktails, but more than half the people who showed were not offered the drink. Some of us when we realized this went back to the entrance, but there were few or no welcome drinks to be found. The food station was not set up properly and there were extremely long lines for the charcuterie. Also, the table repeated most of the same meats and cheeses. There was not enough passing hors-d’ oeuvres and variety, etc. There were lines at the bar that did not move, problems with their credit card scanners, they had no change for a twenty dollar bill. Also, you had to pay $2.00 for a glass of water. You would think that at a signature event like this there would have been soft drinks like Coke, Pepsi or Diet soda, bottled water offered and at the very least pitchers of water set at the tables. When I politely said something to the staff manager person as to the service at the bar, she couldn’t be bothered and abruptly referred us to our event manger. Music wasn’t as planned or advertised and left a lot to be desired. It was a tough to do, but we tried to make the best of the night! This was not anyone’s idea of a fun place, time and certainly a signature event. I should have drove myself, I would have been on time, would have been able to leave, maybe stop at Fantini’s or go home with a few friends and...
Read moreThe venue is gorgeous I will start with that. The communication with clients is way off. I wasn't told about drawing a setup of the event until two days beforehand. Upon getting into the venue to setup the air was NOT ON. Which it was 84 degrees in the room which is truthfully unacceptable. It was so half way done in the room with the table and chair "setup". We rented plates from them which were the size of coffee saucers so we had to go buy plates day of. The young girl who works there is so unacceptably rude several people had brought that to my attention. Saying she was giving them attitude about the setup. At the end of our event she came in didn't address anyone, just walked in I guess she locked up because after that we didn't see her or hear from her. For all the money you pay you think that you would be treated like a respected client. I would NOT recommend this venue to friends and family because of the service I received. It's a shame the place is gorgeous but maybe hire staff who actually know how to...
