Rio Nature Park — Attraction in Stuart

After reading the other reviews I thought this park would be something wonderful, but turned out to be just ok. There's some information about plants that grow there along the trail as you go to the end of the park trail. Once you reach the end, there's a bench and table that overlook the bridge and water in the distance. WARNING, as of recent there's a blue/green algae out-break in the water that is considered toxic and dangerous. Upon arrival there was a strong smell that resembled solid waste and come to find out there was solid waste washed up by the shoreline along with the algae. Before arriving I researched this place on Google maps and thought it would be a great place to launch my kayak from, but I was luckily stopped by a journalist stating I'd risk my health attempting to do so. The local news was there also ready to do a report on how the blue/green algae had become out of control with the worst of it being located at the shoreline of Rio Nature Park. It’s a very small little trail, it’s intended for a short walk that leads to a pretty nice water view. When I went I picked up some plastic thrown on the floor and by the picnic table there were a few pairs of slippers that I found odd because there is nothing else around where you might want to step in barefooted idk… either way it is a nice simple small little trail. A very small park but with an unbeatable view. An ospry family lives up on a pole, flying in and out of the area. There is a picnic bench and table if one wants to sit and watch the view while eating a meal. Very peaceful...
