Love this place. My daughter wanted a bird and wasn’t sure what type would be a good fit. The store was super busy when we went. The owner and another pretty blond lady greeted us when we came in. They seemed busy but I said when they had a minute we had questions. The blond lady came right to us. Spent over 2 hours with us. Spend the time answer questions and was very knowledgeable. We took out different breeds. Recommending what breed is a better first time bird owner, and what wasn’t. We finally found our perfect bird. She also went over cages, toys and any other items that would be needed! My daughter was comfortable with him and he took a liking to her right away. The only weak area of the store is the younger staff. I agree with a previous post. I called 2 different times to ask a question(since I live 45 mins away) got 2 different young staff. They are not good over the phone. I gave my name and number, that she read back wrong multiple times. Said owner wasn’t there the first time I call, asked for a call back never got it. (Probably because my name and number was wrong, I don’t think they wrote it down) The second time I was told she was busy and couldn’t come to the phone. Ended up driving there…One helped at the counter while I was there and she acted like I was bothering her. But over all the store is great. The owner is great. I will definitely be going there for my...
Read moreI am appalled by the business practices of Birds on Safari. The owner's decision to withhold a $1,000 deposit from a customer and instead offer a store credit is unacceptable.
Given that the deposit was for a bird already in stock, it's clear that the owner incurred no losses. The refusal to return the deposit, especially during the holiday season, demonstrates a disturbing prioritization of profits over customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, the rushed transaction process and lack of transparency regarding non-refundable deposits are alarming. This incident suggests a troubling pattern of prioritizing financial gain over ethical business practices.
I strongly urge the owner to reconsider their decision and return the customer's deposit in full. Anything less would be a clear indication of poor business ethics.
The community deserves better from local businesses, especially during the holiday season. I hope the owner will take responsibility for their actions and make amends.
