live near and absolutely love our small downtown. What has me so upset is a private parking violation. There's absolutely no signage that states you must pay for parking when entering as you can see from the street picture. Its only when exiting the parking (pictured last) that shows a sign you will be charged for parking. This is entrapment! Charging almost $60 for a few minutes of parking. Not to mention the threat of legal action and the threat of going to collections and impacting your credit! I have tried to contact city hall but with no success. Our city deserves better than this. I've posted photos and I really hope our city leaders take action and call for signage. Please note the very small print on the right side of the entrance. I moved here from Delray Beach - another town that did things right for a long time, but has succumbed to over-development. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to downtown Stuart, which is wonderful just the way it is. I left Delray due to the fact it no longer felt like a quaint small town. Stuart has a great mix of shops, eateries and service businesses not only down on the waterfront and around the downtown circle, but also up and down Colorado Avenue. Both the waterfront boardwalk from end to end, and a stroll up Colorado from downtown to Federal Hwy, are a beautiful walk. Great...
