I had a wonderful time at Pendalisa Art today celebrating my birthday! The location was good off Williams Trace/Hwy 6 in Sugar Land on the Williams Trace side of the Aisha’s Eyebrow and Spa side. The former Rustic Brush. We all made little candle domes and I got to choose a lamp. We were given pretty easy instructions on paper and got to browse the floor for the patterns we liked around the store. Then got three shapes (triangle, diamond, and square) of small mosaic glass pieces in various colors to start to map out the idea of design and color and pattern. Then we went to work! Once you have your idea, everything goes fast. Clear glue is provided along with instructions and each participant has a tray to work from. After it’s finished, they box up your artwork and after thorough drying, you are sent some plaster like play dough or slime like clay to finish off your project. For myself, since mine was a lamp, just a little bigger, comes with the lamp kit, light bulb and enclosure. So much fun! Plenty of space to bring for birthdays, parties, celebration, post prom or date night activity, and fun to do! They also provided a cut puppicino size tea along with homemade baklava and chewy jelly! So yummy! The young man was very nice. I accidentally ran out the door without my purse but when I got back around, it sat there in the same spot! Honest and kind people. Nothing missing. Would definitely come...
Read moreHave you ever been to a family owned business where the second you walked in, you felt like you were family?
Well this is the vibe we got when we started our date night at Pedalisa Art- a cozy little non assuming shop tucked away conveniently in Sugar Land with all the convenience of great restaurants nearby so you can enjoy a quick dinner before you begin your journey of making your very own Turkish lamp.
I was enamored with the beauty of all the lamps when I walked inside. The warmth of the owners matched the bright colours of every light and every intricate design displayed for us to use as our inspiration for designs.
They were so patient and kind and thoughtfully explained each step to us in patient detail.
And then- AND THEN!!! Homemade baklava and Turkish delights. I’m not even joking.
I was hoping they might be willing to adopt me but it would appear they already have beautiful well behaved children and probably don’t want a 52 year old daughter. I digress.
The project took a little over two hours with very little need of supervision. I’m definitely going back for more baklava. I mean - another lamp. Book your class online. It’s easy it’s fun and it’s worth going to meet this beautiful...

The Pedalisa Art event activity of making your own mosaic lamp is one of the coolest crafts I’ve ever done! I went back twice to make two different lamps and will be going back in the future to make a third!
The people that lead the activity, from Pedalisa Art, are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, patient, and creative. They work alongside you the entire time and answer all or your questions. It was my first time ever trying mosaic.
They supply you with literally all of the items you will need to create a one of a kind lamp: the glass lamp base, the beautiful colorful beads, imaginative DIY maps to help guide you during the “building/gluing” stage, the lamp base/plug/topper (that you chose) and the grout to finish up your project at home.
I gave one lamp as a gift and my sister put it as a nightlight in my baby nephews room and she is begging me to make another one.
This experience is a must!...
