The Nurses/NP are phenomenal but that’s about the only good thing we encountered.
Took my daughter to urgent care one night from breathing problems and coughing. They tested her for covid and RSV both came back negative so they said it was pneumonia and told us to follow up with the pediatrician the next day.
We went to Pediatrics of Sugar Land, after waiting 50 minutes before being seen (20 minutes in the waiting room and 30 minutes in the room with a 19 month old), the dr heard the symptoms and diagnosed it as RSV despite being shown the paperwork of the negative RSV test. The treatment was the same so even though we were frustrated, we went with it. They prescribed her an inhaler and told us it was sent to out pharmacy. It was not. After calling 5 different times (and leaving a voicemail each time) over the next 4 days, we finally got a notification that our pharmacy received it. 5 extra days of my daughter coughing constantly along with wheezing!!! All because they didn’t send the prescription.
Fast forward to the next week, we take my son in for his check up and to get updated immunizations. Again, ridiculous wait! I understand getting behind but this is now starting to be a pattern. Still not a big deal… yet. My 4 yr old fails his hearing test so we’re told they will retest in a couple of weeks after doing somethings to dissolve the wax that was in there.
2 weeks later, we have one of the first appointments of the day. According to their website it was 30 minutes after they opened. We waiting 45 minutes! 15 in the waiting room and AGAIN 30 minutes in the room with a bored 4 yr old. He fails his test again so they give a referral to go to an ENT. Supposedly sent it over. No problem.
My husband takes my son to the ENT and of course a referral was never sent!! After AN HOUR of my husband and the ENTs office calling for the referral, I finally just drive over there. When I get there they blamed it on the ENTs office and not being able to get ahold of them and said when they “finally did” they were able to send it over.
I got a copy of all of my kids records and left. We will NEVER be going...
Read moreHIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Dr. Burgos and her staff are top-notch! She and her staff have gone above and beyond every single time that we have taken our baby to her (she has been our baby's pediatrician from day 3 ). Whether it was for our baby's regular check- ups, our baby's vaccinations, or because our baby came down with something, Dr. Burgos haa always been very thorough, caring,, and patient. She and her staff are very knowledgeable, very experienced, friendly, and always thoroughly answer our questions and address our concerns. They make us feel welcomed, cared for,, and put our baby at ease. Going to Dr. Burgos feels like you are visiting a family friend who happens to also be a superb doctor. Despite living in Houston, both of my sisters in law have now switched their children over to Dr. Burgos, and have told me that they are very happy that they did so. Dr. Burgos and her staff are fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and Dr. Burgos is equally at ease in both languages. If you are looking for a great pediatrician with a great staff, look no further. They will greet you with a smile and a pleasant demeanor, even if you are the last appointment of the day on a Friday afternoon, after they have had a long and exhausting week. Highly recommended! A very definite 5 STARS!
Update: Our baby had an allergic reaction this morning and had redness and bumps (hives) on her neck and chin....Dr. Burgos and her staff once again went above and beyond and managed to squeeze us into the schedule within an hour....everything turned out well...thanks again Dr. Burgos...a commanding...
Read moreI have no idea why this place has so many good reviews about Dr. Burgos. I’ve seen Dr. Burgos only once a year or two before this incident that made me type this review up, and that first meeting she was bad tempered with a very somber, depressing face the whole time. I thought she was just having a bad day or didn’t like me and brushed it off. 2 years later in 2025, I’m going into the office with my mom and everything was fine with the staff, all the way up to the patient room. As soon as the Dr. Burgos comes in, her somber face made me feel like I personally did something horrendous to her. I was surprised she didn’t have a rain cloud on top of her with her tone of voice, body language and facial expression. I just can’t forget that expression. She asked me questions regarding my symptoms very robotically, and when I’d respond she’d give the shortest responses possible with a sluggish, bored, annoyed voice. I got a call a few days later and she didn’t even MENTION the results of my test. She just gave very vague advice on “what to do”, and nothing else. She never even said if everything came back clear or if I have something. Don’t know if she hates me in particular, hates teenagers, or if every day is a bad day for her but I truly couldn’t believe the audacity of this doctor who couldn’t do her job properly and...
