I can’t say enough good things about Summit Ski Shop! Jack and Deb are truly wonderful people, and every time I go there I feel so well taken care of. Jack has so much knowledge and passion for skiing, and he never tries to push something just to make a sale. Instead, he takes the time to explain, show options, and genuinely help you find what’s best for you. A great example of his honesty: years ago, I had bought a pair of ski boots from him but totally forgot where I got them. Later, I ended up buying another pair from a different shop where the staff didn’t care to guide me properly. Those boots felt comfortable at first but were way too loose, and I eventually broke my ankle skiing with them. When I went back to Summit Ski Shop, Jack immediately pointed out why those boots were not right for me, without me even telling him about my injury. He showed me exactly where and why they were too loose. Then, I found my old boots in my garage and brought them in. Jack put them on my foot, explained everything again, and said they were actually perfect for me, something he had recommended to me 3–4 years earlier when I first bought them from him! That moment showed me just how consistent and honest he is. Skiing is clearly Jack’s passion, and he cares deeply about helping people enjoy it safely. If you’re looking for someone who truly knows skis, will be honest with you, and will treat you like family, Summit Ski Shop is the place to go. Jack and Deb are...
Read moreI went to Summit Ski on 2/16 to inquire about daily ski rentals for a trip that I have planned from 2/20-2/22 (three days of skiing), but I was told to come back the Wednesday before I leave for my trip because they would have all their equipment back from the weekend rentals. I went back on 2/19 to get fitted for some boots, ski’s, and a helmet. I just took the fitting of the boots at face value. After my second day of skiing, I had swollen and bruised shins, and bruises on the soles of my feet from my feet shifting around in boots that ended up being 1.5 sizes too big. I ended up not being able to ski on the last day of my trip. When I brought the equipment back on 2/23, I told the guy working at the store (same guy that fitted me) that I did not ski the last day (that I paid for) because of injuries from boots that were too big. Out of interest sake he fitted me again, and I was a 22.5, and I got given size 24 boots as rentals. The guy merely responded with “we were probably out of stock of your size by the time you came to rent.” (After being told to come back on a different day because they would indeed have more stock) I did not get a refund for the day I did not ski that I paid for upfront, and I am now hobbling around due to bruising. Terrible...
Read moreHorrible experience with owner of this shop. He refused to take responsibility of defective poles that were sold to me at the Springfield avenue location. He said that the two stores were completely separate businesses, yet I picked up my brand new skis, bindings, boots and poles at his "new" location because he was "doing them a favor". I was even willing to take used poles in exchange even but he basically just threw me out and told me I was on my own. Didn't care at all. I hope i don't have a problem with my skis as im sure they wont care about that either.
Not only that, if the businesses were so different why does he share this old google profile and all the old reviews? You can't pick and choose when you're related to an old business and when you're not out of convenience. Not cool. Plenty of other shops with integrity around here.
I care more about how i was treated than the actual poles. See you...
