Prior to this experience I was a loyal Apple customer with my phone, watch, computer and ipad. No longer. I have just spent endless hours dealing with incompetent customer service representatives for an issue that Apple itself created.
I recently upgraded my phone online to an iPhone XS and traded in my old device. When the new device came, no box came with it to ship it back. I called customer service, who told me that I was responsible for shipping a trade in. When I asked him to check (because it sounded a bit suspect to me), they told me that after checking with his manager he confirmed that Apple no longer mailed out the shipping boxes. I asked if I could instead bring it into a store to avoid shipping costs and was told yes, so the customer service rep booked me an appointment at the nearest Apple Store (Providence, RI).
First of all, your systems should contain notes so that in store employees know why someone has booked an appointment so that they don't have to re-explain their issue. Given that you don't have a seamless online to in store experience, however, I explained my issue the store employee and manager. Both looked as perplexed as I initially had been, and went to investigate how they could collect my phone for me. They couldn't figure it out, but said that perhaps some online process had changed that hadn't operationalized at the store yet. Eventually they charged me what was left on my loan and collected my phone that way - they couldn't explain why they had to charge my last payment, but said that was the only way to collect my phone. With 3 children under 3, I was tired of dealing with Apple reps and wasting time I didn't have so I just agreed to be done with it.
Well, the next week a box showed up in the mail for me to send back my old phone. I ignored it, assuming that perhaps it had been sent because the older phone hadn't yet been processed as returned. But then this week, I was charged $300 for not turning my phone in.
I have talked to multiple representatives, 3 senior advisors, a sales person, been disconnected 3 times, left on hold without anyone checking in for 45 minutes, was told your senior advisors didn't have managers (do you take us for idiots?) and that there was no way to escalate issues that they were unable to resolve, and told by an incredibly rude individual that I would just have to call corporate if I wanted to escalate.
Well, when I called corporate, they sent me back into the hell that is your customer service department, so I am instead emailing you.
Not only did I have to retell my story every single time I spoke to someone (doesn't your system have notes?), not one person could figure out what had happened or even make progress on the issue.
Needless to say, this has been one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had, and I'm so incredibly disappointed in a company that touts themselves on superior product and...

I am seriously concerned about the devices being sold by the carriers as a part of their promotions. If the IPhone pro max 15 is mentioned as IP68 water resistant and can be in the water for 30 minutes and upto 5 meters, my son with his phone and the outside cover for fall damage has stepped into the pool by forgetting about the Iphone in his pocket. He’s in the water for less than a minute and he realized and immediately came out to give his phone to me where i am sitting outside near the pool. In no matter, the Face ID stopped working and in About Phone “Showed True Depth camera issue “. I wrapped the phone in the dry towel overnight and next day morning it’s now showing “ Battery damage and True depth camera “ issues. I got the phone through Verizon and I am sure, there’s something going on where they are opening these brand new Phones and taking out original Parts and replacing them with the duplicates . It’s the main reason to my understanding, water went inside the phone as the assembly was not done properly by leaving a gap to let the water seep in , in less than a minute. The carriers offering Promotions by offering free IPhones deals for selection of the Maximum data plan are definitely making the IPhones ripped open for the original parts and replacing them with the duplicates as I looked at the Amazon website where there’s so many products available for under $20 and the simple YouTube instructions to fix the issue. The same iPhone to repair was quoted $699 + Tax at the Apple Store, is given a quote of $119 at a local street store operating behind a grocery store in North Brunswick,NJ. I do have good experience on using multiple mobiles like windows and android and ios.I’m the big fan of apple iphones(after start using using iphone 4s/5s/6s plus)but after buying iphone xs made me to write bad review on apple product.
Iphone xs battery draining so fast compared to previous models.
The internet connectivity issue is so much because the phone wifi is not automatically connecting . It is always disconnecting from wifi and connecting its self to cellular(LTE).all the time i have to connect to the wifi manually which makes no sense at all using the iphone .these days normal mobile phones connectivity is good compare to iphone. Note:my home wifi is stable & i’m also using iphone 6s plus which is working properly and it always connects to wifi when any previous connected wifi is in the list .whats the point of buying expensive phones with poor connectivity option.
The face recognisation is not a proper idea to unlock the phone and also for secure storage data and also for login into the bank accounts .Because when one of my friend used my phone and it gave him access with his face recognisation and it got unlocked .how come both face textures will be same .if both people having the beard means having the same face? If some one found my phone and tried to unlock the phone who is the responsible for my privacy and security of my data .
By the way samsung should say thanks to the apple for forcing apple customers to use ...
