I came in for a pedicure and to get acrylic nails done a full set. The manager Jimmy welcomed me into the spa. I thought it was beautiful and we were talking. I mentioned that I was a nail tech from way back in the 90s. I have not done nails in years. He got Eric to do my pedicure and he was a wonderful kid. He was nice, he has great hands to massage feet. Jimmy , stood there about the whole time I was getting it done. Jimmy told me it was gonna be five more dollars to take off my toenail polish. I’ve never heard that in my entire life of getting pedicures. So pedicure is done I go to the nail table to do my nails , I usually like them short because it was my anniversary we were going to the Cayman Islands. I wanted them just a millimeter longer. Jimmy was sitting next to Eric and they were talking in their own language. Eric tells me they’re going to charge me five more extra dollars because I wanted them a little bit longer , I have never heard that in my life he said because of the extension that I wanted them a little bit longer that I have to pay for it. I don’t understand why he was so rude to me and I told him , ( not in a rude matter at all) Jimmy, that that doesn’t make sense to me. I was trying to understand. Maybe it was miscommunication on my part. Jimmy got angry at me and told me to get out of his salon and not to come back and get out over and over again . The girls in the back were laughing , the ones that work there which was also rude and un called for . I just think that they need a new manager that doesn’t criticize people or overcharge people. You ladies are getting ripped off there. I originally wanted the classic $35 pedi , Jimmy had bumped me up to the Pro -Silver Pedi $45 . When I left , I ended up paying $61 !! I’m telling you you’re getting ripped off. If you’re ever treated like that, I hope you know you don’t have be! Also, The girl at the front desk that takes the money, she was really reluctant to give me his name, which I find really odd.( please don’t think I’m complaining about the money. I’m complaining about the service that I got from Jimmy...
Read moreASK FOR PRICING AND AN EXPLANATION OF PRICING UP FRONT! I actually hate to write this review as this nail shop is 3 minutes from my home and they've always done a great job on our nails. We've been going there since they opened, and the attitude of the employees has changed quite a bit. The real issue is Jimmy, the manager. He picks and chooses people to randomly add $5-$15 erroneous charges to the total. My teenage daughter has gone in there twice now with her natural nails to get a 'full set'. My daughter has now been charged an extra $15 the first time and she and her friend were both charged $5 each today for 'nail extension'. Apparently, Jimmy doesn't feel that a 'full set' includes the nail tip??? When texted a link to provide a review, he didn't like my comment and called me directly to 'explain' to me that a 'full set' is only on your natural nail and I could call around to other shops and they'd say the same. Ummm, we both know that's a manicure, Jimmy. I've been getting my nails done for over 25 years and have never once paid a 'nail extension' on a full set when I've gotten tips and acrylic or liquid gel. And when I say NEVER, I also mean at H&H...hmmmm, I wonder why I was never charged for 'nail extension' on a full set? So I guess if you look young or gullible, Jimmy is going to add fake charges and speak to you like you're ignorant. Jimmy, if you'd like to charge $60-$70 for a well done full set that comes with a side of rudeness, just be honest about it. As this shop does with negative comments, there is sure to be a dishonest reply posted below. Believe who you will, but buyer beware...get a quote and explanation up front, ask to see...
Read moreMy pedicure was very nice except the gentleman didn’t understand me when I asked for my toenails to be cut down. My polish was chipping after 3 days. I said I was willing to try them again as they are a new business to the area.
However, my daughter went and got a full set after a recommendation from a friend. She was charged an additional $30 on top of the full set price. When she asked why it was so much she was told by the man checking her out it was because she wanted her nails filed in an almond shape and almond wasn’t a natural shape. She was never told there was an up charge for filing her nails in a different shape than what the tech considered natural. Had she been told she would not have had it done.
Top it off, she left a review about her experience on their text service and the terrible response in return was ‘let’s break it down for you dear’ because she got designs at $3 per nail. So which was it? $3 design per finger or $30 almond shape??? You should have broke it down for her before you completed the service. My daughter would not have paid an additional $30 for shaping/designs whatever it was had she known the fees. She would have picked something in her budget.
It’s bad business practice to not inform the clients of additional fees associated with services they are interested in. Hitting them with an astronomical bill at check out is not fair to the customer.
I understand they are a salon by the beach but don’t take advantage of that and the customers by not explaining your pricing correctly before you perform...
