I just walked in this facility with my son to ask if my son could use the restroom (that I’m literally looking at by the way as I write this) and the security guard told me not unless I have a library card. The bathroom is located outside of the library before you walk into the actual library. Now I can understand if this was in the library, but outside and to be denied is crazy. Don’t take your kids here unless you want to support a terrible facility. They are CLEARLY a classless organization with little to no standards or intelligence. I’ll make sure to tell everyone that I come across not to come to your facility and that you are a terrible organization. How you treat people matters and as a business professional, husband and father who specializes in training, customer service, learning and development, I’ll make sure to use you as an example in class this week of poor standards and how NOT to treat people. You clearly don’t understand the basic philosophy of treating people the way you should and would like to be treated…and it showed tonight. Nothing like telling a 5 year old he can’t use the bathroom when he needs to go. This was ridiculous and you all should be ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!! To the security guard at the door who denied my son the use of your bathroom, I hope you look in the mirror tonight and decide to make a change not only professionally, but personally. The mere fact you consider yourself a professional establishment is a joke. Spread the word, this place doesn’t support children and families and we don’t let children use the bathroom as a library. We don’t raise people up, we...
Read moreVery solid place for working on schoolwork, telework, reading, or other activities needing some quiet!
Positives:
The library itself is very tidy, faintly smells of books, is well-kept, and very accessible.
For those people that are movement-impaired, there is a wheelchair ramp up to the front of the building, and the entire library is on one floor, so no need to navigate with elevators or worry about needing someone to help you fetch out-of-reach items.
The librarians are kind, and usually welcome you in, if they are not engrossed in a task.
There are a good many open desks, all include charging blocks/power strips.
Negatives:
You may need headphones to actually focus in this library, as it does do children's read-alouds and family-friendly events.
Be warned, this is right on the train tracks (and less than 500 ft from a train crossing), so every once in a while (from anywhere in the library) you will hear a train horn. This isn't all terrible, as I use it as a good reminder to get up and stretch my legs/back/neck and rest my eyes.
This is a public library, and there are people that frequently come in that do smell heavily of various things - it may not be a good place for you if you are especially sensitive to smells.
Overall:
Decent place to work, especially if you can find an unoccupied corner of the library to put headphones...
Read moreAs a student in Medical School, this has become one of my favorite places to study in my rotation. I LOVE their after hours, especially cause my one gripe with the place (which is why this is not five stars) is that during normal hours, the place is FILLED with little kids who are lightly supervised and are loud. Would prefer there is a small policy on sound as it is a study place for tons of people but it's not entirely a deal breaker cause it's often tolerated with sound proof headphones. I've also looked at the books they have in their catalog and it's very extensive and nice. The employees are very nice and I know they have very little control on the people who come in to the library as its a free resource to the public. The building is very well maintained and modern- wish there was a few more power plugs for long periods of studying as the ones there are available are usually hogged by the middle and high school students there for their cellphones. Otherwise, very much recommend! The park next to is nice to look at out the window but it does clog up the parking which is .. not very nice lol. Been a resident of Suwanee for most of my life and its super crazy to see this library still standing strong despite all the new...
