This place I went into today sat down to eat with my wife and family she got a drink so I figured I would get one. I ordered a specialty drink off of their menu wanting to substitute vodka instead of rum in the drink the server said ok let me go ask if we can do that she comes back tells me it's ok we can do it. I say awesome, I'll do one of those please so we put our order in my wife put her drink in and I ordered three of their specialty tacos as well with my drink. She comes back tells me the bartender says that we cannot do that now because that's not the way the drink is made and it will taste nasty. So we can't do it. So I say ok whatever that's ok I'll take a shot of vodka with cranberry juice on the side with ice in my juice no ice in vodka. She comes back and gives my wife her drink and has vodka with ice in it and cranberry no ice. I told her I'm ok now I won't be drinking any alcohol today because it seems that you can't get my order right, and I'm not drinking watered down vodka that's why I specifically asked for ice in my juice that was on the side. She tells me I put that on ticket and told him that. The bartender then told her that he is going to mix it anyway what is the big deal when he gives drink to her to take to me. When she takes the drink back shaking her head, he the bartender takes the drink back and mean mugs me and stares at me trying to intimidate me for at least ten seconds. It then became very uncomfortable immediately as I felt like I was in the wrong and I wasn't welcome anymore. After that I sat there awkwardly until my tacos came. I ate them all, and they were all very good it is ashame that this all happened right in front of the manager and he was rushing us out the door came and asked me are you done and ready to pay? Took my card from me without even giving me a check. This place is the biggest joke of a establishment I have ever visit I stand on that 100%. We will never come back to and I will be telling all of my family who just moved to this area and friends to definitely not go here and order any drinks of any kind I think if I ordered a beer it would have been a problem somehow this guy was very big and trying to intimidate me by staring at me the whole time I ate making all of us...
Read moreIt really pains me to write this review. I was at this restaurant the day it opened and have been a loyal customer since the beginning. Today, September 10th, at about 11:30, we were there for lunch and I ordered a steak chimichanga with no guac. This is something I have ordered many times before. First thing I noticed is the gauc on the plate. No worries I removed it. Then I noticed it was chicken instead of steak. I decided to eat it anyway. But then I realized something I could not excuse. The chimichanga was almost all onions and peppers. There was at most 1 oz of chicken if that. I literally had to open the chimichanga and look for the chicken. I separated the chicken on to one side of the plate and could not believe how little chicken was actually in there. I asked for the manager and told him from the beginning I did not want a refund but needed to tell him about it. He was very defensive, first telling me that this is the same recipe they have always had. When I disagreed and let him know I order this all time, he said well they change the recipe all the time and they just changed it last week and said that if I want more chicken I should ask for more. I let him know that first I asked for steak not chicken, and second I should not have to make a special request to have a normal amount of meat in my steak chimichanga. He continued to insist that this is how they do it and I should ask for more steak. I decided at that point he was not going to really listen and asked for my money back for the meal. This really pains me because I have been a regular customer since the beginning and I am sorry I won't be able to come here anymore with that kind of service. If Tequila Mama is listening, please reconsider your behavior with your regular customers and go back to providing not only good service but...
Read moreHaving recently moved to the area, I'm always on the lookout for reliable spots, especially since I work from home. My wife and I decided to try this place, but our experience was far from satisfactory.
It took 10-15 minutes just for our waitress to take our drink order, by which time we were ready to order our entire meal. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, hoping the delay was just a one-time issue. We ordered the queso dip with steak, and after another 15-20 minutes, the queso arrived—without the steak. Considering the queso alone is $11, we expected better.
After waiting another 15 minutes, our main courses finally arrived, and to be fair, the food was quite good. However, midway through our meal, I requested the check, anticipating it might take some time. It did. After 10 minutes, the check arrived, but our waitress vanished again. We waited another 10 minutes before flagging down another staff member, who then brought our waitress back—she had been casually chatting with coworkers in a spot just out of our view.
The atmosphere was pleasant—no complaints there. The restaurant was less than half full, so it wasn’t a particularly busy time, which makes the service issues even more disappointing. As mentioned, our waitress spent time chatting with coworkers instead of attending to us.
Overall, I’d rate this experience a 5/10. The food was good, but the service needs significant improvement, especially for a place that...
