Great place to see a live show. Great view, good assortment of food trucks. Very family friendly. Although if you are sitting in the general admin grass field you cant really see much, so it's definitely not an arena concert kind of experience. Couple of things that could use some work...if you are bringing an empty bottle to fill, be sure to bring some electrolyte mix or kool aid or something, the water from the bottle fill is disgusting. Like it had been sitting in a pvc pipe in the hot sun for the past week disgusting, it was the talk in the food lines as people were having to buy bottled water.. Also, the lines for alcohol ID check and just to get to the food trucks snaked around the whole venue until well after the show started. Also, some lighting in the porta potty area would have been helpful by the end of the night (not really a spot I want to take out my phone.) All in all a great night though. It was also nice to go to a show and not be smoked out! Every show I've gone to in the last 2 years ive had to leave early or move seats because people were smoking weed and security refused to do anything. At the show tonight, I smelled a little towards the end but it was manageable for my lungs (cancer treatment does nasty things to your lungs abilities to handle...
Read moreI have been enjoying the waterfront all along Rustin way and our beautiful Point Defiance Park for over 80 years and was very much looking forward to seeing the new development at Dune Peninsula. I was taken aback when walking along the pathway while watching out for bikers and skateboarders. This seems like it would have been a wonderful opportunity to make one path for hikers and walkers and one for bikes, motorbikes, skateboards, and the large pedal bikes. More notice should have been taken of Holland where there are more bicycles than cars and they all get along. I am not sure what the purpose of the huge stairs are other than an accident waiting to happen. It does not make sense to make playgrounds as safe as possible for children then give them cement blocks to climb. What child would not be tempted by that? Then, are not trees part of nature? With the world heating up it seems we need more trees for shade rather than more cement. Please do not try to "improve" the walk from the boat house...
Read moreWent to a concert here, seems like a new set up and they're still figuring things out. Do not try to park in the big lot close to the park, that gets taken over by concert staff. The closest lot gets turned into VIP parking. The parking lot building is the closest available parking other than a few street spots. I think we paid $14 for 3hrs. The free water tasted horrible! Very plasticky and chemically. The view was fantastic! Before and after dark. Nice grassy hill to sit on with a clear view of the stage and the water. The online info said that no chairs are allowed, but the truth is they're not allowed in certain areas. Lots of people on the back grass area on the hill had chairs, bringing mine next time! I didn't like that you can't take alcohol to the back lawn area. You have to finish it in the beer garden which is a flat grassy area in the middle of the front lawn and back hill. Overall a very nice experience and I'm looking forward to going back for another show,...
