Okay I’m not one to even leave negative comments but this one take the cake for me. I visited this place last year with all my kids they gave me quite a look like a could not afford to eat there with all my kids. The food then was good but service was well. Now fast forward to Today I came with just my 3 girls we are out having a girls trip yet on this trip I did remember the food was decent not the best but better than pizza, Nothing wrong with the pizza place we just always have pizza, so took my girls here to this Thai place . My almost 3 year old was tired (she is autistic) but we figured she would calm down after she ate something. We started to order our drinks waitress walked off. She came back and finished our drinks order and started to take our food order. I figured I would follow my 2 year old around while we wait until Order is ready and I asked if we could make it a Togo order when she submitted the order. As I am following my toddler it had been approximately 1 minute since we had ordered the guy behind the bar told me we cannot walk in that area since they serve alcohol ( she did not walk behind the bar just in the walkway of the sitting area) (they were not super busy) I thought he was joking he was not so I picked up my now screaming toddler and asked the waitress I don’t think we can wait please cancel order it had officially been 3 minutes since she submitted our order and didn’t even get a chance to take a drink of my drink … they said they cannot cancel my order because it’s almost done …. 3 minutes into submitting the order I said okay can I have it then? She proceeded to tell me that well it’s almost ready but it’s just waiting on one thing for the plate. She added well you can go out side and wait and I said how long and she said 10 mins I said then it’s not ready why do I have to wait for food that’s ready I literally just orderd? I figured arguing was pointless and paid then almost almost broke down but just kept being positive I sent my older daughter to pick up our $118 order … I was thinking no big deal we can eat in our room while she walks around and calms down but no the nightmare order was not over just yet ….we opened our order there was a ticket in our veggie wrap ewwww.. the steak was old it tasted like the meat was going bad. The sauce on the chicken satay was super gross. The fried eggs look like they had been sitting in the oil entirely to long in general. The rice was white rice at least it was cooked, the only thing my daughters ended up eating was the fried spring rolls they were 7 out of 10. Food was not good and the service is not very friendly zero on customer service. What should have happened was her to reply I understand let me tell them before they work on your order would you like me to put your drinks in Togo cups. At which point I would apologize emensely that things did not go as planned as all parents (or of special needs children) understand then I would have paid for my drinks and thanked them and walked away. The fact that I was basically guilted to pay for horrible service and Food is why I am here to help others that want to have a good meal with their kids and be treated with in reason. Will not be back do not recommend. I did not order any alcohol and they don’t have any child friendly meals or sizes. Just an absolute no just do the pizza or door dash if you are staying at the hotel. We ended up...
Read moreCame here for a lunch date on a Saturday a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful sunny day, so there were lots of people out and about. Fortunately, my date and I had the entire bar area to ourselves as we dined; made us feel like we rented the whole joint out! 😅
I ordered the massaman curry and she ordered the pad Thai. We also grabbed an order of veggie egg rolls as an appetizer. For drinks, I ordered an Arnold Palmer and she ordered a hibiscus mojito. Let’s start with the drinks, shall we?
The mojito was great! Refreshing, tasty, not too strong but strong enough; it was great. The Arnold Palmer was mediocre at best. Tasted watered down with both the tea and lemonade flavors being pretty weak, even upon first sip. Left a lot to be desired.
The veggie egg rolls were awesome! Crispy, good filling, not soggy or filled with oil. Cooked just right and had a delicious dipping sauce on the side. Would’ve eaten two orders!
I’ve tried so many different versions of pad Thai at this point it’s crazy, but this one was pretty solid. Good noodles, fresh veggies on the side, good flavor, good spice level, and all of the ingredients were cooked well together.
The curry was amazing! Massaman curry is my go-to when I eat Thai food, and this one rivals some of the best I’ve ever had! Creamy base, sauce was nice and thick and not watery, veggies were cooked to perfection, and it was a good size portion. Only thing I could’ve used more of was more peanuts in the dish! Other than that, I was very pleased with the curry!
Total price: $81+
Drawbacks of our visit: -Our server was absent and/or hard to track down for most of our meal, even as a majority of the restaurant sat empty. -I had to get up twice and ask for something: my rice that should’ve come out with my meal and refills on water.u -Our check was not delivered by our server, but by a hostess; who also took our plates and dishes before we were even finished with our appetizer) She had us put our remaining egg roll on the pad Thai dish to take the egg roll plate, which was strange. -The restaurant seemed to be very well staffed (almost too much so) -The atmosphere was a little stale, no music, only Mariners baseball on the tv’s in the bar (which was alright by me, but may not be everyone’s preference) -Paying $4 for a side of rice that, at almost any other Thai restaurant, comes with the dish I ordered is kind of silly. Especially after having to wait an extra 10 minutes for them to bring it to the table after I got up and asked for it.
Overall, the food was the best part of our experience at BoRan Royal Thai Cuisine. For the price of the meal for the two of us, I’d hope they make a few changes to a few of the things I mentioned above, but the food was excellent, so kudos to the...
Read moreI went here for my first time because the owner had told me I should try it. Being it is right next to the movie theater I figured I would make a date night out of it. We were seated immediately which was nice. There seemed to be a lot of people here so I figured the wait could be a little while. When we ordered our food, I was told that the food spiciness level was from 1-5. Most other places have a 1-15 spicy level so I figured I would go for the level 4 since I'm a big fan of spicy. Upon receiving my food, I was really disappointed that it was not spicy at all, in fact it was sweet if anything else. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken. The food wasn't bad but for the price it wasn't great. The reason why I gave three stars to this review was mainly because of the lack of table service I received. After making eye contact with many of the wait staff, after 20 minutes of waiting I ended up going up and asking for the bill. No one bothered to refill my water, nor asked me if the food was fine. Which I was gonna ask if there was a sauce I could use to make the dish spicier. Every time I made eye contact with a staff member, they would avoid my gaze and stayed away from my table. When I asked the server on the way out why the service was so crappy, he had said that it was because my server was the busser or something like that and I suppose that they might not handle other servers tables which is understandable but personally as someone who relies on tips in this economy, I would best serve my customers or any customers that looked like they needed something, whether or not they were my table. Don't think I will be eating here again unfortunately. The lady owner seemed so nice and spoke highly of her restaurant but the service has me wanting to...
