(Written by wife, Kimberley) Stayed on 12/11-12/12. We have heard nice things about this hotel and wanted a nice night away for my birthday. We have had a hard couple weeks with the loss of my father-in-law. We just really needed a break. We got a water view king room. The room (#553) was on the fifth floor, but was a partial view of the water and a lot of construction. Make sure you specify for a full water view room. Besides the view, the room was lovely - the bed was cozy, it was all very clean.

My family tried calling about ordering us champagne to the room, but they can't accept cards over the phone (understandable) and so we called down and asked how much for a bottle of champagne and they told us we would need to go downstairs and order from the bar without giving price details. (For reference, they had a $75 bottle and a $125 bottle).

We ended up deciding to order takeout from the restaurant downstairs inside the hotel and would inquire about champagne while down there. We ordered food and they said they would call when it was ready without giving us a time frame. This is when my husband found out the prices for champagne and just ordered a bottle of red wine for $49.50.

It took over an hour and when my husband came back upstairs, we saw we were missing part of our order. He called down to them and was put on hold for almost 15 minutes without anyone coming back to the phone. In that time, someone brought up the wine to us (even though they do not deliver food - you have to go downstairs to pick up, but I guess they deliver for drinks?) He ended up going downstairs. He talked to the host and she said she tried calling our room (she did not as I was up there the entire time) to tell us that item was not available anymore. They made no mention of it when he picked up the food and we were still charged for it. He ended up ordering something else (a salad) that would take 20 minutes to make. I was furious as we only had one night at the hotel and the majority of the time my husband was dealing with the restaurant. He ended up asking a refund for that extra order. Zach, the restaurant manager, comped our meal and offered a bottle Champagne, but we had already ordered wine (via room charge).

After getting back up to the room, my husband called the front desk to make sure it was noted that the meal and wine were comped. He had to call twice because the front desk had not gotten back to him. They told us the restaurant ended charging a different room for our meal, but the wine charge was on ours and they would make sure it was taken care of. When we checked out the next morning, we double-checked that there were no extra charges and they confirmed and said they released the $100 incidentals charge.

I was still charged $49.50 on 12/14. We called tonight 12/17 and said "that is a manager problem and you can leave a message for them." We hope to hear back about this.

It was a pretty upsetting experience that took over my birthday. I don't know if I would recommend this place. I would like to think it is just new hiccups at a new hotel, but it was an...

Sublime Sanctuary at Silver Cloud Hotel Point Ruston

My stay at the Silver Cloud Hotel Point Ruston was a delightful and rejuvenating experience that goes beyond the average hotel stay. Exceptional service, an immaculate environment, and the allure of a charming neighborhood blend seamlessly to create a stay that's absolutely unforgettable.

The cleanliness of the hotel was truly top-notch. From the moment I stepped into the pristine, well-lit lobby, I knew I was in for a spotless experience. The meticulous attention to detail was apparent in every corner of the property, from the polished public areas to the sparklingly clean rooms. Silver Cloud Hotel is clearly committed to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, a commitment that shines through in their exceptionally well-kept spaces.

One of the features that stood out the most was the bathroom in my room. It was remarkably spacious, providing ample room for relaxation and preparation for the day. The bathroom's design balanced luxury with functionality, offering high-end toiletries and a grand, comfortable bathtub that invited one to soak in and unwind. The ample lighting and tastefully chosen fixtures gave the room an elegant yet cozy atmosphere, turning ordinary routines into moments of tranquility.

However, what truly sets Silver Cloud Hotel Point Ruston apart is its phenomenal staff. From the front desk to the housekeeping team, each staff member demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth. They were always eager to assist, answer queries, or share local recommendations, making my stay feel incredibly personalized. The level of customer service offered here is indeed a rarity, highlighting the hotel's commitment to creating an exceptional guest experience.

Another impressive aspect was the surrounding locale. Being nestled in Point Ruston, the hotel offers easy access to a diverse range of recreational options, from charming restaurants and boutiques to the beautiful Ruston Way waterfront. It's the perfect blend of serenity and activity, allowing guests to tailor their stay according to their preferences.

In conclusion, the Silver Cloud Hotel Point Ruston has mastered the art of hospitality. With its commitment to cleanliness, spacious accommodations, and unparalleled staff, it promises a unique stay in a vibrant locale. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, I highly recommend this hotel for a stay that will leave you refreshed, invigorated, and eagerly looking forward to...

My experience was an over-the-top delight. From the start it was easy to navigate to and find the hotel, even after a stressful day and a challenging drive. I pulled into valet to be pleasantly welcomed and I hadn’t even gotten out of my car. The individuals working (Eric) were pleasant, sharp and communicated well, very helpful. Then as I entered I was met with a visual delight. The lighting, the art and decor, the layout and design were all great. However, the staff provided to be the true delight. Check in was a breeze, (Erika) was so informative and vibrant. I felt at ease by her disposition as she spent just a few minutes sharing with us about our amenities, opportunities and entertainment. Really a pleasurable experience that rewarded me with calmness and excitement, how refreshing. So as we took the elevator we noticed we couldn’t feel a thing while riding it. Then we turned our attention to being excited with what our room experience would be like, given everything so far. As we opened our door we were very impressed. It was a wave of awe, a sense of appointment, intentional if not deliberate thought was given to the tiniest of details. The room was glorious, the king size bed comfortable, the freshness of the comforter was incredible. The pillows were a little stiff and over large but otherwise fine. There was even a bottle of wine to greet us with real glassware located through the room. An umbrella to use (how thoughtful) and many many amenities for use, including the ever needed vanity kit. Really an immersive room experience. Absolutely nothing was in want in this room. Except those pillows. The pool and hot tub, I will say is by far, the absolute best in the entire City of Tacoma or Ruston, as far as hotels go. Those jets melted away the tension. But, let’s talk about the restaurant/bar. The food was absolutely divine, atmosphere was euphoric and the view was majestic. The staff (Katrina) was excellent. Really high caliber people serving in a high quality environment. Check out those pictures! Anyways, I could go on and on why I would give this one night stay the highest rating ever, but really you gotta experience this for yourself. By the way, little extra tidbit, I met another customer that drove all the way from Seattle, just for the steak and eggs breakfast! Even after a twelve hour work shift! After my first bite of mine, I understood. Thank you for rescuing my...

What a beautiful place. Very artistic design inside. We paid for valet because they told us there was no other parking around. That’s not true. There’s a parking garage about 50 yards from the hotel. Don’t waste money on valet. I didn’t like not having access to my car when I needed it. Plus you have to tip at least $10 each time you ask for your car, then return. Our room was good, I say good because a beautiful view was ruined by disgusting windows. The outside was covered in spider and plain out dirty. Paying that much money to stay, the least they could do is clean the windows. We stayed on the top floor, 5. The jetted tub was fantastic. So relaxing, with many different jet settings. We found that no one has cleaned under the lounge chair in our room for a very long time. I found jelly beans, dust bunnies, and what appeared to be animal hair. I tried to say hi to the housekeeper on my floor, but she just looked at the ground. That was strange. The pool was on the top floor. It’s tiny. Good luck getting in, as it’s usually occupied by small children. I ended up calling it “people soup” because the water was so murky. I did not even try to swim. After exploring the farmers market a bit, we went back to our room to relax. Found there was no extra blanket in the room so we called the front desk. 1.5 hours and 2 calls later, we received a blanket. One good thing about this place, we didn’t have to hear doors slamming and people talking in the hallways all night. The sound proofing is fantastic. You can only go in through the main doors, which is a huge inconvenience when returning from the trails. It was a very confining feeling. You need a key card to use the elevator, which only worked half the time. You had to practically beat the sensor with the card to get it to scan right. This hotel is incredibly large. If you have difficulty walking long distances, bring a wheelchair or walker. You’ll need it. At the end of our stay, we found my wife left her sweater in the room. The house keepers located it, and saved it for a few hours until we could return. All items were still in the pockets. Absolutely love honesty. Overall, this place is beautiful, but overrated. I think we’ll try the Ruston way silver cloud next time. Save $100. And they have an actual parking lot.
