Stack 571 Burger And Whiskey Bar - Tacoma — Restaurant in Tacoma

Really wanted to love this place!! 2nd time here and wanted to forgive the slow service and try again. 😖 This place has potential but management doesn't have it figured out yet.

Visited today, a hot, Saturday afternoon for early dinner. we requested a table outside since we had our pup and got seated right away.

We were sitting in the back next to the ropes and had our pup (small, 21lbs frenchie) right next to the plants under the shade. we weren't next to anyone.

Didnt take too long to order but we ran out of water pretty quick and our server mentioned and said he would bring back more but didnt.

So, about 15 minutes after we ordered our food, our server comes to tell us sorry, the dog can't be inside the ropes on the patio.

Well, the other side of the ropes was full on sun so that wasn't going to work because she would have overheated. 😥

We said ok, well we will need our food to go. so they said ok no problem. We asked if we could please get our alcoholic drinks soon (at this point it had been 20 minutes since we ordered) he said ok he just put he order in 😮!!

We had ordered the milkshake with a shot and a margarita and didn't want them to come at the same time as our food and have to down them fast! 😄😖 After another 7 min or so went by we asked for them again. Then about 5 minutes later they were delivered. 🥃

So...another 15-20 min or so go by and 2 waitresses come with our food, but it's all on plates and not in to go boxes, and then one of the dishes wasn't what we ordered so we were sure they had the wrong table!! Nope!!

Fast forward another 10 minutes and our server comes out and says sorry about the mistake, that was our order and they just got one of the orders wrong but all is good now because they are going to make the meal that was missed and give us the other one for free.

OK, so another 10 minutes later our food was delivered in bags. missing 3 sodas and 2 sundaes. so we mentioned and he was like oh sorry I will get those. so he brings back 2 sodas and reminded him there were 3. so he gets the other and I remind him of the sundaes and he says yep just have to go get those they take a few minutes to make. 🍦🍦

So he brings them and we finally go and I realize I don't have a straw for the soda so I go back...

So we finally go sit down by the water park area to eat and start opening the food boxes...

The side of fries he assured me were family sized and that we didnt need to order fries with each burger because there would be more than enough were SO small we thought they belonged with one of the kid meals!!

They only filled up a quarter of the box and we had to share them with 3 people.

also, the food was starting to get cold at this point because it was order they originally tried to deliver but had one of the meals wrong. so it had been packed up anyway and sat for 20 minutes before we could eat it.

OK, so the server was nice but that's about it. The rest of the service was incredibly poor.

The food. The teriyaki burger was pretty bad. mind u it was on the gf bun. but the burger was well over done. In hindsight, we realized that he asked 2 of us how we liked it, but not my bf who ordered the T burger and he hates well done.

The fries were ok but small serving and only warm.

My burger, I will say was amazing. they got it right. 😊

the kids said they liked the chicken sandwich and the kids burger. 😋

All in all not really worth the $80...

Beware vegetarians!!! When you ask the server if they have beyond burgers and the reply is yes. You consider enjoying a burger like everyone else in your party. And when they come to deliver it you ask again because you want to make sure it is beyond because you don’t normally eat them and it is very important to you not to eat meat. And again the answer was yes. My daughter does not eat beyond burgers so she was making sure. So she goes in to eat half of her burger before she stopped and called the server over to ask again because it looked pink and tasted wierd. “Like meat” and the server still reassured her it was indeed a beyond burger. As her eyes filled with tears. I made the server go check with the chef immediately! And sure enough she had entered the wrong burger! This is not a fad diet for my teenage daughter and she works with animals and feels very strongly about being vegetarian for a cause. She was in hysterics and not to mention sick in the bathroom or this servers major mistake. Not to mention we are attending a family birthday evening and now everyone’s upset.

So I then ask for the manager Jeff/ben? I can’t remember because I was so upset (younger, slender man with dark brown hair and glasses) to make sure he is aware and holds someone responsible. And his answer was, sorry our server has been on a vacation and this is her first day back…WHAT??? And then proceeds to tell me that next time my daughter needs to know what a beyond burger looks like and check it. EXCUSE ME!?!?…so we shouldn’t trust you after we asked 3 separate times if it was a beyond burger? and then said I’ve been dealing with mistakes all night, I took it off your bill. So All I got was excuses while I’m standing there looking at my daughter sitting traumatized and balling at the table. Thanks Stack 571 Tacoma for making one of the biggest mistakes in the restaurant industry and then pointing the blame at my daughter and making all of the excuses you could think of.

So vegetarians beware you can not trust this restaurants servers to get it correct or the management to comprehend what service is expected in a restaurant or to take any responsibility. We were there for a family members birthday and you ruined the night...
