Jack Hyde Park — Attraction in Tacoma

One of my favorite beaches in Tacoma because of the great views of the Olympic mountains and the 2 huge Navy ships nearby. The shore is shallower and more rocky here than at the main beach, which makes swimming difficult but not impossible. I like this beach because it looks straight across to the Browns point lighthouse. I've seen a lot of wildlife out here: sea otters, seagulls, and rabbits in the nearby woods. Cheaper than the aquarium and quieter than the main beach along Ruston way. It's a great place to stop at the end...

This place is a great spot during the summer. Nice dock for sunbathing, paddle boarding, good fish for purchase, both grassy and sandy areas to lay down in and relax, salt marshes and veiws of both the Olympics and Puget Sound....there's really a little something for everyone. Oh, your dogs will like...

It's kind of tucked away, along the waterfront. Not a lot of parking. But I took some great pictures there. Panoramic views & fun to watch the boats going by and the activity. And there's a big world globe there that's kind of cool!- Cool to stand by & take pictures! And I only live minutes up...
