Don’t bother, unless you want rude service. Is it a coffee shop or a bar? First off, being greeted by the host felt like stepping into a funeral home. He was less of a welcoming presence and more like a mortician…seriously, I half-expected him to offer me a choice of caskets instead of a table. His rudeness set a tone that made me question if I’d accidentally stumbled into a horror movie rather than a bar… or coffee shop? The place has an identity crisis. The service was pathetic. I ordered a drink that took so long to arrive, I started to think I was at a historical reenactment of how long it takes to make cocktails in the 1800s. When my drink finally arrived, I could barely taste the alcohol. I think they must have used a dropper to measure it out! It was like ordering a steak and getting a salad instead.. healthy, but not what I wanted. The atmosphere was another letdown. I expected a cozy bar vibe, but it felt more like a waiting room at the dentist's office. All in all, Proof was a lesson in why sometimes, it’s better to stay home and pour your own drink. Walked in and the 2 people working the bar never acknowledged me even after looking at me multiple times. Finally sat at a table and waited at least 10 minutes and never had anyone check on me. Just left El Gaugho in Tacoma and talk about 2 different levels of customer care! Wow what a joke this place is!! Give it a couple months before it closes down. I or my multiple people I recommend bars and restaurants to will not be back. Seriously such just an overall...
