The staff is friendly. I contacted them in search of a hall to rent. But it did take a few days for someone to finally reach out to me after I left a vcml and the email just bounced back. I had better luck physically going there. The websites shows pictures of the rentals and price points but they have increased the prices. I'm not sure if it's because of COVID or what but it went from 150 to 200 an hour. I'm still goin to rent the hall because it's necessary. But I wasn't pleased with the price difference. On top of having to pay $200 they give you no time to set up or clean up. You have to do that within your event/partys alloted timeslots. So Im basically paying $200 to set up for an hour and hopefully that's enough time and then an extra $100 to clean up rather then have those hours for my party. I find it very unfair. A couple other halls I went to allowed time for set up and clean up; hours or even the night before. Without having to pay extra. But their dates weren't available. All in all the staff is great super friendly, not to talkative on description or info but such sweet people. Just unhappy with the cost I have to incur & their contract/rules/time constraints pertaining to set up and clean up. If I could do it at another hall for about the same price I would but again my the dates are what is forcing me to stick to this one. If by chance I hear from a different hall before I finalize this one. Im not staying here. It's just not worth it for the cost and time constraints. Look around 1st. And had to.hire security guard and a bartender in.order tl.serve alcohol at the quincenera. Just ridiculous cost oh and had to pay extra for use of the kitchen. I love the staff and look of them place and that it's more modern and up to date but will never go there for a hall again because of the cost. I find it unbelievable all they can charge for. Its very unfair.

I've checked out most of the amenities the Star Center has to offer. A Boys & Girls Club, a outside Waterpark that geared toward younger children, a gym for adults, a large indoor 2 story jungle gym type area for kids You can drop your kids off there I think it cost $12.00. Today I went to a basketball game that was held in the Boys & Girls Club area. Theres ample parking, lots of Green Space, baseball fields were they hold huge tournaments they must rent out space in one of the buildings because I've seen people walking out from church services and church services and wedding receptions. It's not on a major road it's easy to find if you have a GPS and it's relatively safe there. All in all it has made a great addition to our community.

The green area and splash pad at STAR Center are absolutely perfect for a fun, laid-back day outdoors! The lawn is wide, clean, and great for picnics, tossing a frisbee, or just relaxing in the sun. There are plenty of shady spots and benches for when you want to take a break. The water area (sprayground) is a big hit with the kids—it has lots of fun fountains and jets, and it’s open during the warmer months. It’s especially nice on hot days, and the setup makes it easy for parents to keep an eye on the little ones. There are bathrooms, water fountains, and plenty of parking, which makes the whole experience super convenient. If you have kids or just want a peaceful spot to enjoy some green space, this is a great place to visit!

The place was beautiful and spacious. But the reason I’m writing this review and giving 2 stars is because of my experience that happened with the Subway inside. I was patiently waiting in line for my order to be taken, as the lady was finishing the customers sandwich before me. In the most rudest, crankiest tone ever, she said to me, “Do you need anything because I’m about to be on break?!” I just stood there in shock. I don’t know who she was thinking she was talking to. I don’t know if it was because I’m a teenager and younger then her and she thought she could disrespect me but no, respect is mutual and goes both ways. I just dealt with it and didn’t say anything because I knew better and didn’t want to cause a scene. I told her what I wanted and she very quickly made my sandwich. She then very rudely asked me “Is that it?” I wanted my sandwich toasted but she rushed me and I couldn’t ask for a fountain drink also. I just said yes and paid for my sandwich. The thing that infuriated me the most was how respectful she spoke to the customer before me. He needed assistance with his card and she spoke to him respectfully. Her tone was much different from the tone she used with me. I had just wanted to write a review for the subway but I guess I have to write a review on here because the subway is inside. Overall I just wanted to say that was the worst customer service. Also the lady who made my sandwich has hello kitty tattoos on the left side of her arm I don’t remember her name but there is no other lady with tattoos like that.* I hope she doesn’t work at Star center anymore because she shouldn’t work in an environment that has kids. Especially with her attitude she won’t get far in life and I seem to be correct on that with her working at subway in a community center. (No...

We rented a room for birthday party for my little brother. My mom was recently diagnosed with cancer. She came back to US just to make a birthday party for her 5 years old son because he has all his friends here. She tried her best to make it a fun birthday so my brother will remember it. My mom doesn't speak English. When she came to Star Center Tacoma to purchase a package Front desk just point to her where to sign contract but nobody never explain anything. Please people read contract before you deal with them. We had an issue that kids had meal and desert first. Then when they were ready to play, staff locked our door (in the room we rent) so our kids won't go to playground. They told us that kids should of play first hour instead of eat and now they can just sit in the room and cry. When we went to front desk to complaint they refused to help. After we insist to speak to manager or supervisor they called to Malaika Robinson. We got a chance to speak to her only on the phone. She said read the contract (sometimes kids will have time to play for the first hour or only the last hour). She also said that they call usually on Thursday to remind and explain about party but nobody never call. We don't even have any missed calls or voice mails at all. MALAIKA also said that the reason they can't do anything because there is another party and they cannot let 2 party's on the playground at the same time. However, right away she offered to purchase day pass for every kid when center closing in less than an hour, so then they can have all this kids on playground at the same time. She refused to answer my question. People please be Careful! They do not care about kids they care how to screw you and get as much money as...
