I just want to say the dentists and hygienists were great this review pertains to the front office staff/scheduling staff.
I have two small kids ages 2 & 4. I scheduled them their very first appointment for the morning (one right after the other so I didn’t have to go back and forth). One week prior to the appointments I was called by the office and the staff requested if I could possibly change my kids appointments due to staffing challenges. I said that would be fine and I rescheduled both of my kids for mid afternoon after their naps.
The day of the appointment this office calls me and says they can’t accommodate both my kids in the afternoon slot and that one of their appointments needed to be moved up one hour. This was the same day (approximately 1.5 hours before the proposed new appointment time) and my partner and I had already made arrangements so that both of us could go to the office and sit with one kid while the other adult accompanied the other child back to the exam room for their appointment.
I asked if it was possible to move both their appointments for later in the day but was told there was no availability. I was offered to change my other child’s appointment time to 30 minutes after the firsts child’s appointment but was unable to do so because my partner had a work meeting scheduled at that time. I can’t just leave one of my kids in the waiting room with no adult with them. I also didn’t want to supervise one child in the tiny exam room while the other child was getting their teeth cleaned.
So because my partner works from home I was able to drive one child to the appointment while the other stayed home. I then finished the appointment just to go home to drop off one child while picking up the other to take them to their appointment one hour later. This was so incredibly frustrating and not to mention my small children who need naps did not get them because of this dentist office’s lack of proper scheduling.
Open enrollment is coming up and this experience has me seriously considering changing our dental coverage so I never have to deal with any more scheduling nightmares such as this one. My kids had a positive experience with the dentists and hygienists but if the scheduling staff can’t figure out how to do their jobs effectively then I’m done with...
Read moreI have Willamette Dental through my employer, and am a little shocked by the huge gaps between appointments. I had an appointment back in August of 2022 for an extraction. They scheduled another appointment a month or two later, which I had to cancel because I was sick. In November, I called to schedule the previously canceled appointment, and told them I was on vacation for two weeks and would take whatever they had available. After several calls, they never called me back.
In February, I called to schedule the same appointment again, and was told they they would be connecting me to financial services to see if I had an outstanding balance. After speaking with financial services, the gal said I owed $10, and would have to pay it before scheduling another appointment. It turns out that the person who collected my office visit fee of $10 "forgot" to charge me another $10 for having the denturist come in to evaluate me for a partial. I told her there was no way I was paying extra to have another doctor come in to that room when you're the ones who sent him to me.
They knew what the last appointment was for, and I paid my $10 office visit fee which covers ANY dentist that looks at my teeth. I went in a week ago and spoke to them in person, and explained everything AGAIN, and made it very clear that they need to get this fixed sooner than later, or I'd be consulting an attorney and filing legal action. The gal said she'd email the manager who'd be calling me back. It's now been 4 days, and I've heard absolutely nothing back yet.
I paid my office visit fee when I had my appointment in August, and need to get this work done ASAP!! When you schedule an appointment, you pay your co-pay for the office visit itself, and not a separate fee for another dentist to do an evaluation. I could understand it if I were sent to a specialist separate from Willamette, but that's not the case.
Maybe it's time to consult an attorney and do it that way. The teeth they're suppose to be extracting are getting worse, and my patience is...
Read moreI have been a patient here for almost 30 years. I have never had an outstanding balance. February I definitely had a cavity that needed to be taken care of however they wouldn't schedule me because there was an outstanding balance due from another family member that was on our insurance plan that had been seen earlier that year. I never did get my cavity filled. Fast forward to now, I have a lump in my jaw and pus oozing from a tooth an excruciating pain. I called Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. the message was left make that throughout the day three messages were left and I did not receive a call back until around 3:00 something in the afternoon I was asleep. I called back and was forwarded to the doctor on call cuz the office was closed. He told me to call at 7:00 in the morning to schedule an emergency appointment. What a joke considering I just tried that on Monday. It's Wednesday now nobody's called me back to see how I was or if I got anything scheduled nothing I emailed admin not even an email back from them nothing they don't care about their patients they are not their first priority money is their first priority. I can not force a family member to do anything I'm responsible for myself I can take care of myself I can pay my bills myself but trying to get a hold of somebody here was a joke I've ended up seeing a different dentist not affiliated with Willamette who told me that I did have a abscess which had spread to the bone underneath the crown behind it. Check it out had I been seen in February when I first called I wouldn't be losing two teeth now. This is not the Willamette Dental that started a long time ago these people have no heart they don't care and if you're in pain they hope you get better soon. The best dentist I've ever met worked for this company his name was Dr Harris he was the only reason why I was at Willamette Dental in the beginning then he retired and I think he would probably be shocked at how uncaring this...
