Unhappy Concert Experience - P!NK Concert, Sept 4th, 2024
Iâm writing this with great disappointment to share my experience at the P!NK concert on September 4th, 2024. This should have been an exciting night, especially with the promised accessibility features, including interpreters. However, what unfolded made the evening feel anything but inclusive: 3 other people who have sat in my same row, had also felt like this was a very unpleasant experience. We never been forced to sit down at concerts.
Forcing us to stay seated the entire concert, despite having interpreters, was beyond frustrating. As a member of the Deaf community, I felt trapped, glued to my chair, unable to experience the concert like everyone else. Iâve attended numerous concerts, worked as a Deaf interpreter at events, and NEVER experienced this level of restraint. This seating limitation was like a slap in the face to any form of accessibility or inclusion.
The interpreters and captioning were placed right next to each other, making it difficult and distracting to follow either. How does anyone expect us to enjoy a show like that?
We are beyond disappointed with how these so-called âaccessibility needsâ were addressed. Not being informed ahead of time about the limitations, especially when I specifically bought tickets for interpreter access, made this even more upsetting. Bought these tickets to truly experience the excitement of the amazing PINK artist by being up close in the 100 section.
To add , we had a security guard standing at the railing in front of us, giving us this uncomfortable, taunting stare down the entire time â like I was being stalked. AT A CONCERT! It was so unsettling and added to my already frustrating night.
I emailed these concerns during the pre-show, right when "The Script" was on, and guess what? Nothing was done. I couldnât enjoy the concert at all. I have NEVER sat through a concert feeling so restricted, and Iâm absolutely appalled.
The next day, I received an email apologizing that it âdidnât meet my expectations.â They refused to offer a refund but had the nerve to throw in 2 free tickets, drink/food vouchers, and parking like thatâs supposed to make up for this. Letâs be real â I took time off work, drove 4 hours one way, so thats 7.5 hours round trip and was ready to stay at a hotel but ended up driving home because I had work the next day due to not losing more pay in my job. Their offer is not only unfair but dismissive of the serious accessibility issues I faced. They would have to truly provide more than that offer, to make it truly feel worthwhile of the drive and time off of work.
It should have felt like a once in a lifetime experience, seeing P!NK... Unfortunately it was not. It was an unpleasant experience.
No one should have to go through this. I truly hope they improve their accessibility and offer the experience to deaf people as they do the hearing people at...

That phrase is not as accurate as it was 10 years ago, but now the aroma is just just fishy. Still just as sketchy if you're on the streets... Wait, this isn't about Tacoma. This is about the iconic Tacoma Dome in Downtown Tacoma.
Located just Round a mile from Emerald Queen Casino. If you are planning on eating at the venue, you may want to take an early dip into your retirement or adjust the college fund for the kids to an HVAC certification fund. It's pretty much 30 bucks after tax for an entree and a drink throughout the Dome. They even encourage tips. Call it 40 bucks because they deserve that tip... Have you ever served a near constant 3-6 hour sold out rush of rowdy event goers? Without a single one having to wait more than the transaction time for their order? I doubt it, and I would put money on that. I would put money on the fact that you will scoff at the idea of tipping a fast food worker after paying 7 dollars for a 20 ounce bottle of aquafina.
Fun fact, The Tacoma dome is one of the first and only places with a "REVERSE ATM".
No, it's not a device that takes your cash instead of dispursing it without giving you anything... It gives you a debit card for your cash because all of the overpriced food, sports memorabilia, and tacky band tour T-Shirts are card payments only. They do take NFC (GPay/ApplPay), so there's that.
The staff is friendly, the food is decent, the building is old, and it is a sight for sore eyes. It is a nastolgic experience for any of us who have had an experience there.
They have raves there regularly. I saw Tech N9ne on New Year's up there about 15 years ago. Hardly remember it other than my friend getting robbed up the way. I've also worked there before... Concessions, believe it or not... As far as I know I never got my tips... It's aight. There's something about the place that keeps me coming back. Domes are dying, and it's an Iconic landmark. I miss the Kingdome... Kinda, I guess.
Remember, "Even the babies know, Tech Nina got crazy flow..." Enjoy your 20 dollar burger and fries with your 8 dollar micro-gatorade.
Eat before you go and bring a water bottle for sure. ESPECIALLY IF ITS A RAVE. Water...

Traffic/parking: This was the worst most unorganized venue my husband and I have ever experienced. We had to get out of our Uber and walk several miles just to not miss our show because parking and traffic was such a cluster, zero people in charge of directing/assisting with anything.
Bathrooms: only two bathrooms were open, one Mens and one womanâs⊠for 20,000 people. An HOUR long wait in line anytime you needed to use the bathroom. Tons of girls using the menâs bathroom just to not pee themselves. You canât go outside because you arenât allowed to re-enter, so people were actually peeing themselves. The sinks didnât work to wash your hands and the power was out in the bathroom for the first half of the concert. Just completely dark.
Seats: super squished, no cup holders, and only one exit in our entire row where everyone HAS to be standing up to let people out, and no room for you bag so you need to pick up everything you brought every time someone needs to get out.
Leaving the venue: DANGEROUS! No signs or people to direct you, no ride share area. You just have to walk around aimlessly miles away to find a street name and area to be picked up while thousands around you are doing the same just as confused as you are. Gridlock traffic and in a very dangerous unsafe area at night. We Had three different Ubers cancel on us because they couldnât get to us within the hour. 2 hours later we finally were able to get a ride. There were Non-Uber drivers- just strangers, pulling up to large groups of gathered lost people to offer a ride to the highest bidder. Two guys got into a fist fight over it and one of them ending up paying the stranger $500 cash just to get a ride out of there.
Overall, it was really a scary experience trying to get out of there, I cried when we finally made it back to our hotel because I was so grateful we actually made it. We were truly lost and felt stranded. We thought we were going to have to try and find another hotel at 1:00am to stay at until the morning so we could get out of there safely. First and last trip to this venue,...
