The Hippie House — Attraction in Tacoma

I am sad to write this review. I had heard bad things about Hippie House, mostly about how high their prices were. I busted our quartz nail by knocking it into a wall. It was close to Christmas so not many places were open. Our first choice was Piece of Mind but they were closed, for some reason.

So, we were stuck with Hippie House. We purchased a "Quartz Banger" that ended up being $35-37 (I can't recall the exact cost with tax), which is more expensive than any other nail I have purchased, but we were desperate.

After 2 days of use, we noticed a small crack that was growing with each heating. We called and left a message with HH voice mail to call back, even though the receipt says, "ALL SALES FINAL" (which is bad business in my opinion). They called us back later that day and advised that it was quartz and should not crack with heat, but that they would take a look at it. We brought it by that night, receipt included. We were told the same thing on the phone, "ALL SALES FINAL" and their "nails don't crack under heat". They showed us a mark on the nail and stated that we must have knocked it against something. We were insistent that we had not, as we have been extremely careful and just bought it 2 days prior. They said maybe "a friend tapped it" and refused to replace the nail. I was rather confused by their friendly tone of voice as they were basically telling us we were screwed. Needless to say, we left angrily.

On our way home, we stopped by Piece of Mind to tell our story. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We told our story and showed them the same nail. They sold us the same nail at a much lower cost and even gave a 20% discount due to poor customer service at...

Absolutely awful service. Steer clear! Over priced, below quality products. Sold us a "quartz" rig banger that began to crack from low-temp, regular propane torch heat within 48 hours. The shop owner insisted it was a user error and that we cracked it by tapping it. He said he would "throw any of his other bangers on the torch and prove their quality" but that we were out $35.00 and he didn't give a damn. He said he has been selling glass for years. Yeah, well, we've been dabbing for quite some time as well. I didn't tap the backside of a hot banger and just not notice. "ALL SALES FINAL" he kept demanding but "I'll give you tips for the future" he ensured. Nah, bro. Sure is one way to run a local business. I went down the street to Piece of Mind (my original intent but they had been closed the couple days back due to a store fire) and not only was the quartz banger legit (you can tell by the way they heat), but it cost half the price and the shop employee gave me a discount on top of it to make up for the jerks down the street. This place is so frickin cool! Local artists, fresh products, and great advice. I am a war veteran with issues. I have found nature is the king of health and The Hippie House uses this theory for all there products. I have found they offer ever day happiness for adults, but if you're young in the in the wisdom department and still have a need to be "wrecked"? Please, as a regular patron, go elsewhere. Plenty of options out there for you. Stick to your street drugs, NO TWEEKERS ALLOWED! If you like reviews that are honest this place is 5 STARS NO LESS.
