This place is great during crabbing season and before salmon season kicks off at the Puyallup River. This has been one of the go-to places to take my son for casual saltwater fishing. There is sometimes an issue with homeless people in the area harassing the local fisherman and there's been a few times I've had to politely ask them to please leave myself and my son alone. Typical fish caught here are dogfish and the occasional odd salmon. I don't see much else being caught here to be honest. As an avid fisherman who goes fishing a few times a week on average, this location isn't exactly the most abundant in fish variety. But the park itself is beautiful, and watching the boats go by especially during sunset is also rather nice. The view of Mount Rainier is always spectacular. One significant downside of mention though, there is no public bathroom that I know of at this park. So you're going to have to either hold it or find somewhere else to use the bathroom if you're planning to spend a long period of time here. Do you make sure to lock your car, I've seen a lot of shifty behavior...
Read moreI liked this place. There wasn't anything extra special about it that you couldnt get from all the other parks lined up this particular road (and you might feel safer going to those other parks too) and It was pretty grungy under the bridge, but the guy sleeping in his car had all his windows down and was able to sleep like he didn't have a care in the world. The guy picking up trash under the bridge (thank you Sir, btw!) didn't seem concerned either. Looks like it's an active place for runners and everyone was just doing their own thing. I should also mention that we went here because I always end up taking the wrong turn in this area and we just decided to check it out since we were...
Read moreThea’s Park is a hidden gem! Hidden because I almost missed the turn off Dock St into the drive that leads to several parking spots on either side of the drive. Also a couple more spots to park all the way at the end of the drive by the small rock beach. Waterfront park area has a good green space with the large rock at the east end next to The Dock, which adds another place to walk around with a boardwalk on the backside. At the west end of Thea’s is the rock beach, a huge globe surrounded by stones and bricks with names as well as messages, and a tall sign post with “welcome” in many...
