I frequent WinCo for sometime, started in Montana and once I moved here I continued. I shop at this location as it’s right by my house. Lately I’ve been dealing with an inappropriate self check out person. Never did I have a problem shopping at this store. All of a sudden this lady keeps touching my bag without permission and then last week she was bitchy and packed my items on top of each other cause I used the other check out space(as no one was there, yes, I am a mindful person, mind you-there are video footage) as she did tht she put an object on top of items tht would mush! I literally undone everything while she was there and was calm as I like to shop with earphones as shopping around mindless ppl are a pain. At tht point I got home and called, she made me forget a couple of items there too, I was frustrated and wanted to jet out. I called and spoke to Desmond, a manager. I gave him receipt info for him to check the video footage. He said he’d talk to her. Well, here I am a couple of days later, shopping and here she is still touching my bag without permission(not asking to look) and then belittling me when I advocated for myself. At tht point I went to a supervisor. Spoke to Chris and all he did was justify her actions. All I’m asking is to shop with peace, no harassment, I’m not asking for much, especially when I spend thousands a year at this place. This is my go to place. I then said well, here I am trying to relay my continued dissatisfaction and he literally gave me tacit approval to yell at her the next time she harasses me. So I said, well I guess I’ll be doing tht. They aren’t listening and failing to correct her behavior. I guess I have tacit approval to yell at her the next time I shop there. If you shop self check out, watch out for her. And speak up. Otherwise don’t go through the check out or go elsewhere. I’m not gonna go elsewhere cause she’s harassing me. Not sure why she picks on me, is she discriminatory or is she on a power high, I don’t know. Now I have anxiety shopping here but, as I mentioned, I have tacit approval to yell at her for harassing me so I guess...
Read moreI just came from the Highland Hill store, been awaiting for it to open since I first heard they were going to open one there.
Wished I had made a list but really just needed toilet paper so didn't but there had been a couple of items I was looking to see what they sell for there (if I can get it there). Oh well. I know some will say the isles are on the narrow side and perhaps a bit smaller than the one over on S. 72nd. Being familiar with that store, I don't find the isles at the 6th Ave store all that much narrower and the store does not feel nearly as cavernous as the one on 72nd. Being as it was initially a home builder type of club store when it opened in the late 1980's, but became a grocery store when it closed many years ago and eventually became WinCo.
That said, the store on 6th began as a Safeway when that end of the center was rebuilt about 30 years ago. The entire shopping center was initially built in the early 1950's, the parking lot is no different when it was for Safeway, though they did repave part of it up front by the store due to a mild expansion of the front. Part of its configuration is the addition of outbuildings out front like Panda Express, Carl's Jr etc taking up space.
Going in around the lunch time period a couple of days after opening, it was still largely busy but found employees largely trying to be helpful, or were busy stocking and several stopped to ask me if I needed anything.
Prices are very good overall and several items were a bit less.
Scott 1000 4 roll single ply toilet paper was 68 cents less than at Fred Meyer Molasses Brer Rabbit (full flavor) was a whole 2.01 less than at Fred Meyer, 3.48, Vs 5.49 at FM. Blackberries, a pint was less at WinCo. 1.28 Vs 3.99 at FM for Discoll. This is fresh berries mind you.
So again, prices are decent, even if on name brands, and you do save more if you go with the store brand (WinCo).
Overall, I think I'll be visiting this store more...
Read moreToday I went in and bought some groceries and long story short, after running my card, the lady at the register(carolya f.) said the transaction didn't go through. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes, and then proceeded to have me run my card again. The total was $75.68. For me as a single mom that's a significant amount of money... That being said, I was charged for BOTH transactions, so a grand total of $151 and some change. I just called and spoke with Dustin, as soon as I realized I was charged twice, not only was he rude and inconsiderate, but he informed me there was nothing that he could do, because I guess the system is going to recognize that I was charged twice somehow, and then will "reverse" the first charge, all on its own, but he also has no idea how long that will take. Because it's Saturday, my bank isn't going to have anyone in to help me with this issue until the day after tomorrow. Had the cashier actually looked, and/or informed me of the policy, I would have put the groceries back seeing that I had other bills to pay tonight. With what's left over, I now can't pay said bill, as a result, I'm going to be charged a late fee. I don't mind paying my bill and I'm not looking for free sh*t either, but I don't appreciate being over charged and then treated like I'm over reacting, when I'm pissed and looking for a reasonable resolution. So customers beware,if you use a card to pay for your transaction, check before you leave the store that you haven't been charged twice. And if the cashier says the first transaction didn't go through, and you have to run your card again, know you will be charged twice because from what Dustin told me, this is a common issue here.
Edit: I did want to come here to say that the reversal of the extra purchase, did come through a couple of days later, so at least there's that, I guess. But if I do continue to shop here, I will be using cash only. This entire situation...
