The Loose Wheel: Where Sports and Spirited Ambiance Collide
I recently had the pleasure of stepping into The Loose Wheel in Tacoma, and it was everything I could have expected and more from a big sports bar. This lively haven for sports enthusiasts is the quintessential example of what such a venue should be.
From the moment you step into The Loose Wheel, you're enveloped by an energized atmosphere that immediately sparks the sports fanatic in you. The layout of the bar is spacious and inviting, with ample seating and multiple TV screens. No matter where you sit, you're guaranteed to have a great view of the game. Watching football games here is not merely a pastime, it is a fully immersive experience.
But it's not just about watching, it's also about feeling the game. The energy level during football games is through the roof. The staff and patrons create an incredible community of camaraderie, adding another layer to the overall experience. You can feel the excitement reverberating throughout the bar with each pass, each touchdown, making it as exciting as being at the stadium, if not more.
The service is superb as well. The staff are not only attentive, but also add a genuine warmth to the atmosphere, making it feel like a local neighborhood bar despite its impressive size. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you're made to feel like part of the team.
Lastly, I cannot write this review without mentioning the food and drink options available. The Loose Wheel boasts an extensive menu with a variety of pub classics and unique twists on your favorite dishes. Their beverages cover a broad spectrum from local craft beers to classic cocktails, providing something for everyone's palate.
In conclusion, The Loose Wheel truly shines as a premier sports bar. From its vibrant atmosphere to its incredible game-watching experience, this bar checks all the boxes. It's not just a place to watch a game; it's a place to be a part of the game. If you're in Tacoma, make sure to add this destination to your list. The Loose Wheel delivers exactly what you expect from a big sports bar, and...
Read moreExtremely dissapointed by the service. I hate to pull the "I'm in the service industry" card. But I am, and this was truly terrible service. The server, after 8 minutes of sitting brought the menus. Another 10 minutes go by before our order is taken, time is 9:58pm. She tells us the kitchen is closing soon, at 11 and we need or, should put our order in now. Proceeds to put the wrong order in, we get the food delivered by another server, or kitchen staff. Tell them of the mistake, and they offer tots or jojos and if we need more drinks. Perfectly acceptable.
At this point I've decided to start placing bets on when our server will be by, and it's no less than 13 minutes for the next visit, for which she said "oh Oops kitchen closes at 11 and I told you guys at 10 so you actually have more time to order" . During this visit, I ask for water. Another 15 go by, and I'm rather agitated, so I head to the bar for some water, bartender doesn't see me? Or something, I waited 4 minutes at the bar with no acknowledgement.
I head to my seat and 10 minutes later we get our waters(almost 30 minutes now) with "sorry it took so long" in a very lackadaisical manner. I forgot to mention she never started with water in the first place.
If I ever provided service this terrible I would feel so ashamed. I left a tip for the kitchen staff and almost nothing for the server as she did nothing. From 930 (self seating) to 1115pm, we saw our server a miniscule amount of times, she didn't deliver the food, the additional jojos, and almost forgot the water all together.
As it stands right now, I would not go here again. Sad as I am visiting from Eastern Washington and this is the experience I had.
This tueaday evening 6/18/24 and it was Slow in there. Absolutely no reason for this level is disservice.
Tldr Drinks, goodish Chicken greasy as all frick Service below sub par Tables...
Read moreThe waitresses favor men, Lord forbid you’re a young decent looking woman alone at the bar. They’ll treat you like you don’t have cash, don’t make your own living or like you’re not going to tip. I tip my bartenders well.
If you have a woman bartending she’ll answer the men first. It’s like they have daddy issues they haven’t dealt with yet or they’re intimidated by woman. If I bring a date they answer to him even though I’m more of the regular and the reason why they are getting business from me or my date.
The bartenders are very aloof and non responsive. You can ask for something and half the time they’ll just do it after finishing their tasks with no acknowledgment and the other half they didn’t hear you or forgot.
They’ll turn off the jukebox after you pay for songs and they’re not even playing the TV’s or anything. Really strange and a waist of money.
THE ONLY REASON I COME TO THIS PLACE: They have an outdoor beer garden that allow you to have a smoke with your drink and they’re not to far from my place.
The food is sub par and I generally really like bar food. I don’t know what it is but there is something very off about the workers here.
This bar honestly kind of sucks.. but if you need a smoke and drink after getting off a long shift it gets the job done 🤷🏼♀️
If you’re a middle to upper age man you’ll get more attention than someone like me even if you don’t tip well and I tip upwards of 50%. So if that’s you and you like sub par food and being led on by waitresses when you’re drinking then this is a great place to go.
Oh! And lastly the parking lot is small and usually full of cars so you might have to park across the 5 lane street. At the very least there is a...
