I had the most appaling experience. I used to go to the 6th Avenue Emerald smoothie three to four times a week for 3 years. But lately the co-owner when he works there he will take 6-8 people's order and money before he even starts making a drink. Which twice I have gone there has made me late for work. I decided to give it a try once again. I asked how long it would be since I saw it was kind of the normal where they do all these orders while the co-owner washes dishes before they start making the smoothies. I asked how long it was going to be because I was on my lunch break. Almaed states it will take however long it takes. The nice gal that was helping me I can tell was frustrated by his answer and I said I just need to know so I'm not late for my lunch. Then he all of a sudden puts me ahead of everybody else and said he was going to make mine right then. As if he was having a fit about me asking how long it will take. I handed my Emerald smoothie card since I do go 3 to 4 times a week (to others stores now) I like the freebies that I get. They had recently changed the 10 smoothies to you have to get 15 to get a free. I asked the gal when did they change that....Ameald came over and said you're always like this always coming in with this attitude in front of all the other customers. He said look at the flyer right there pointing to in front of the cash register can't you read it. I've been going to Emerald smoothies for years. I never have had an issue until now. And those are total normal questions to ask. So I asked who the manager was he says I'm the co-owner.I Ended up getting a refund because I was afraid of what my drink would end up being like with his attitude. He should not be working there at all he has absolutely no skills in customer service. My questions were normal what anyone would ask when they're on a lunch break how long do you think it's going to take. Especially when like I said he will take six to eight orders before he even starts making the drinks then he does them all at once instead of in order as he received them. This won't prevent me from going to other Emerald smoothies. But I hope the other owner gets to see this and starts paying attention. He has the I own the place type of attitude and he can do what he wants and say what he wants...
Read moreThis place makes great smoothies and the people are nice and work smoothly and efficiently. The lady below who left a 1 star reveiw prompted me to give these guys a reveiw they deserve since i witnessed the interaction they had. The ladies story is accurate accept that while the co-owner made her smoothie, she would not let go of the prices being different than she expected. Did she have a request? There was no request, just complaining after they told her that those were the prices. Then dont order a smoothie if you dont consent to the prices! She had an out and still complained. The employee at the register did not know how to handle it after the constant complaing: all this while they tried to rush her smoothie out for her work situation. If it were me, i wouldnt wait in line if i was going to risk being late to work, so while it was not wrong of her to ask on the smoothies eta, it was just a bit ridiculous, and something they were just not equipped to answer with how busy they got. Would you ask on a smoothies eta that you just ordered? Maybe, but when you couple that with the price complaining, everyone in the store noticed how difficult she was. Customer relationships are two way, not one way, and i felt the co-owner was just protecting his employee and his business. I might add, that he did not kick her out. She asked for her money back in the middle of her smoothie being made. The co-owner simply requested a different treatment of his business to the lady, and said he doesnt want her here if she couldnt fo that. Very fair , well handled. I might add, that ethically, i think its wrong to leave a bad reveiw toward someone offering a service if youre the one who breaches the contract...
Read moreA specific staff member needs to work on what customer service is. I came in the lady continued with her back turned talking with her co worker then acknowledge me after her co worker said hello. I didn't know what I wanted right then so she said she will be back to help me. Well she was right next to the register washing dishes and I was trying to get her attention "I'm ready." I couldn't yell because I just had my entire left side of my mouth worked on so I got as loud as I could. Finally someone else walked up after me standing and trying for a couple minutes. Then this specific worker walks by see a "regular" ask him his order proceeds to make it and Boom he's out the door. When I said something she tells me "I will look at the cameras with my manager." Because I was in extreme pain there was nothing more I wanted to say to her. I love emerald and work by this one but I will drive to 38th for now on. I felt ignored and dismissed when I communicated like i was valid. The smoothie was the only thing bringing me some joy for the next few hours and she made...
