DO NOT LIVE HERE...... RUN
I'm not one to leave reviews but I want to make people aware of how bad living here is. I have lived here for four months and it has been awful. The issues have ranged from constantly broken amenities, delivery issues, and incompetent staff. I have had 3 packages that have gone missing + my mail not being delivered. For 3 of the 4 months my name was not on my mailbox. I notified front desk and was told it wasn't their problem. It was the old residence. In terms of packages, they don't go to your door making you have to check 3 other locations (front desk, a locker, and your mailbox). These packages have never been found and front desk was no help and essentially let me know AGAIN it wasn't their problem and to take it up with the carrier. There are 50 packages a day that are left outside of the locker due to it being at capacity. Delivery services shouldn't be able to do that!!! Residents constantly remind front desk that our packages being left in an insecure manner is not ok. This issue is still ongoing and packages will continue to go missing! In terms of broken amenities, the hot tub has not worked for a month and the grills have had no gas. If you email them with updates and questions, it takes several days to hear back yet when you go down stairs to speak with them, they're sitting around!!! Hell, it took weeks for my lease to get signed. I should have recognized then and there, that this was a red flag with the management. But worse of all.... my car was towed in my own parking structure. My sticker that was on my dashboard was moved after getting my car cleaned. I get this was my fault but management could have assisted in retrieving my car and even had the fee waived if they called the towing company. Manager refused since I didn't follow the rules. During this conversation, I expresses my frustration as there have been many other issues leading up to my car being towed and costing me $250. When laying out all of the issues I have experienced, the manger was extremely condescending and told me "she is sorry I feel this way and am going through this." She kept repeating insincere phrases instead of helping me retrieve the car.
Update 5/7. My roommate had her boyfriend over and no shocker here.... HIS CAR WAS TOWED!!!!!!! No one parks on the top floor except visitors. There are plenty of parking spaces throughout the garage for residence. The top floor has about 20 spots that are marked with a visitor plaque. These can fill up quickly, especially on the weekends. Although there are plenty of spots, if a visitor parks in one not designated, they will be towed. The complex should add more visitor spots to prevent this from happening!!!! Or maybe they should stop having the tow truck company 2-3 times a week. It is horrible that they do that and it is likely a revenue stream for them....... oh and you can usually tell when they are going to come as they leave the parking gate open for the night which is a total safety hazard as once you are through the parking gate, you can just walk into any door to go on any apartment floor.
Update: 9/16 - many more packages gone missing since I have reviewed. Some in june and now some again end of august. Very upsetting. I am out a $1000 in total due to this complex and they have offered nothing!!! Incompetente staff is still allowing packages to be delivered in insecure locations. Instead of them being left in front the parcel lockers, they are now being left in masses in the mail room where other residents will steal them. They must stop this and have all packages that don't fit in the lockers be left with them. When i went to front desk they said "they are pretty organized." No, packages are still going missing so clearly not.
Oh and they've been allowing the dogs to pee in the parking garage. Once you exit the complex, you immediately smell the urine. It is disgusting and unsanitary. Been happening for months and they just now sent an email recently to try and stop it.....
3 months until I get to leave this awful complex!!! I...
Read moreElliott, Roy & the maintenance staff have been so friendly, helpful and quick to respond when I got here. The amenities are great if have the opportunity to take advantage of them. For around $1600/month for 1 bed), they definitely made the community look nice, but felt like they didn’t put in the same quality for the units. Except for 1 tenant, most residents I have come across seems friendly here. I can't expect much from apartment living, but I've had BETTER apartments where you don't even know you had neighbors. It's loud here at times and I can hear neighbors outside the door when closed, through the balcony when closed and through my walls. You can literally HEAR EVERYTHING the neighbors are doing, esp. the one above me, but it's not their fault. I'm sure my neighbors can hear me when I'm home but I try to be considerate. I was told that it was concrete and wouldn't hear my neighbors' alarms going off or any noise other than the hallway noise. Walls/floors are thin which is what I expected but you hear things such as sex, screaming, tv/music, etc. If you say you can't hear your neighbors, you probably don't have neighbors yet! I had initially chosen this apartment because it was one of the brand new ones, and thought it was quieter/more peaceful and safe, but not for me. One female tenant I ran into an issue with felt so inclined to assert her privilege & sense of entitlement, rude, threatening & disrespectful. I really do not feel at home here. Management couldn't do anything but apologize and tell me if I want to break my lease, to come up with the concessions & the entire lease paid. I wouldn't waste any more money than I am doing now. I can't wait until my lease is up! According to the lease agreement, my lease ends 17 June, which is days later after the 15th month. The garage didn't seem well thought out during the construction. Someone crashed into me coming out of the gate bc they were speeding. The garage entrance/exit has a huge blind spot and it doesn't help when people speed through it or there's a vehicle or trucks (moving/UPS etc.) blocking the entrance/exit/turns. Thankfully, they finally posted speed limit signs in the garage and added cameras. The gate was often open or broken, so anyone can just come in at times. There's no call box to get into the garage, so your guest(s) will have to park outside or one of the 2 15-min limit spots & there's 1 disabled parking downstairs by the mailroom. The garage does have plenty of parking spaces and since they have literally no guests/visitors' spots, they are not as strict as other communities out there compared to this place, which is good. You get one key fob and it costs extra to have another which is the norm for this key type. Some of the wood floors were lifting/uneven the first couple of days I got here. The kitchen appliances aren't "flushed" against the counters, so there are "gaps" on the side where food etc. can get stuck in between. 31 July 2017 There were leaks coming down from my kitchen ceiling, which trailed down to the walls & my bedroom. I left out of town due to work, but luckily, my sister was here visiting. If it weren't for her, I would have came back to an apartment with water damages worse than what it caused. The maintenance staff were/are great, but the process took weeks to get fixed w/ no compensation or the simplest apologies. This "luxury" apt is brand new in 2016, but the units are cheaply made. I wish I had a better, positive experience like some people make it seem like on these other reviews, but feel free to find out for yourself. There are pros/cons to every place you live in, but I am still disappointed. I don't ask for much but now they only answer messages they feel like answering. I'd do my friends a disservice if I had them lured with incentives only to experience the same things I did. I hope it gets better, because aesthetics is there and it has potential, but I wish they didn't use cheap floors/walls at the least. Neg reviews are hidden in yelp too. Staff gives them full...
Read moreI would give this apartment a half star if google allowed it. I am documenting all the issues that we have faced so far and why I would recommend not to rent an apartment at this place.
Construction Issues: The overall construction is sub-par. You can hear your neighbor's on both sides. You can hear them talk or if they are playing any music or TV. You can also hear the tenants staying above you walking, or their appliances running. Its is that sub-par that my light frames in my foyer vibrate when the tenants above you run their dishwasher or washing machine or dryer. Things are worse if the tenant above you walks with heels. It's quite annoying to hear them walk all the time. The doors squeak sometimes.
Staff Issues: Initially, the staff seemed quite understanding and helpful, but as days go, they are neither understanding nor helpful. The staff keeps rotating too, so you hardly get to see the same person the next time you go to the office. So, if you speak to one person with an issue, the next time you have to explain all over again to another person. Issues one reports never get's solved. When I went to report the noise from my tenant above the first time, the manager mentioned that there was a 3 step process for this issue. Step 1: Notify the tenant, Step 2: Warn the tenant, Step 3: Evict the tenant. It's been months now and this issue hasn't been resolved yet. We now go back to them about this, the reply we get is, "They pay rent, so we cannot do anything. You can reach out to cops for noise complaints". They are not even understanding that all this issue is because of their poor construction. All they do is only talk and no work. They never take anything seriously.
Cleanliness Issues Most of the times, the common hallways are never cleaned or vacuumed. They pretty much smell like trash all the time. You can see stains on the carpet. The parking garage is also quite dirty at times. I remember some tenant left their food item in the parking garage and even after reporting it stayed there for almost a week before they removed it.
Water Billing issues: You have to keep note of your water billing usage. They overcharge you at months with no reason. The first few months I complained about this and they mentioned that they are getting in touch with their 3rd party service who takes care of the billing. They kept saying that for a couple of months and then a technician from the billing company (we assume it was from the billing company) came and flushed our toilets to check the meter reading. He said he would look into it and get back to the office. To this day, we are still being overcharged. We keep track of our monthly usage from the meter in the HVAC. All we asked them to check was to see if the meter reading in the house is the same as what the billing company reads from outside the apartment. They never did this and this also is a pending issue. This is also an issue that is conveniently forgotten by the apartment's office.
Smoking Issues This is supposed to be a non-smoking apartment, but people still smoke sitting on the balcony. It's difficult to keep the balcony doors open for a long time during the weekends or the weekdays. Some tenants smoke stuff and the smell fills up apartments. There is no limit to what they smoke here. Sometimes cigars, sometimes pipe and at sometimes even marijuana or weed. No use of camera's in the courtyard. They did send notices by no tenants seemed to care.
Here are some of the issues that I cannot detail because of length constraints.
Noise Issues from the courtyard Bug & Insects Issues in courtyard No Phone Network in the apartment EV Charging Point does not work even after complaining for the last 10 months. Event Notifications received 2 hours before the event.
Overall, there are quite a few better apartments close by that are much better...
