Has anyone ever had hotel PTSD? This Hilton location gave me just that. I visited this hotel on December 6th of 2024. I was so upset with the hotel at the time. I called and left a few messages with management, but never received a return call. I said then that I would do a review but never did it. I was trying to give myself time to cool off. It is now almost 3 months later and I am booking a trip to LA but, every time I look at a hotel, I think about this one. I started my Hilton Honors membership with Hilton. Usually when I go to Hilton's they provide me with some sort of water/refreshment. When I checked in, I asked the front desk personnel about the water. They told me that it was already in my room, but then I was charged $6 dollars for the 2 bottles of water when we left! On top of that, the room was not as pictured on their website. The window was not fully closed, it looked as though it may have been boarded up some kind of way; and you could see the mold growing in the window. They had some kind of humidifier in the room, so I'm assuming they knew this. The bathroom was just as horrible The ceiling was peeling off. There was a gap in between the closure of the ceiling that left a opening. I was so scared something was going to fall out or jump out at me. In the room, the chairs were also peeling apart and the vents were rusty. I was really just disgusted with the room itself. Then to top it all off, we were on the 10th floor and the elevators stop working!!!! They were really slow when we initially checked in, by the time we left the next day, they weren't working at all! So we had to walk 10 flights of stairs to check out. I spent time getting myself ready, curling my hair... just to be a hot sweating mess when I got to the 1st floor. I definitely complained to the front desk. And I called three times and left messages, with no return call. I haven't booked a hotel since, I've actually been using airbnb, and now that I'm planning my current trip. I'm realizing that I have hotel PTSD! So, I decided to write my review to get it out. I expected more from Hilton, but I see I was just paying for a name. I do have pictures of everything, and if I can figure out how to post them. I will definitely be posting them as well.
*Update: This is an excerpt from the response of the hotel. IT IS NOT THE WHOLE RESPONSE... "The waters are complimentary for Hilton members silver and higher but sadly did not see a Hilton account attached to your profile. Also see you were given our "Pure Room" complimentary which is where the medical grade air purifier came in. This is beneficial for guests with allergies."
If they had have returned my calls, and addressed me when I was having the issue, I could have given them my hilton honors number. So that they could've pulled up my account. I gave it to the front desk gentleman that took my reservation and checked me in. Saying you did not see my account attached to the profile is not my problem, its your own! Also, I did not request an upgraded room, nor was I told my room was upgraded. I was just given a room; and if that is your upgraded room I would hate to see what your regular rooms look like. The mold in the windows is ridiculous!!! If I did have allergies, the mold would have over powered them. Take real accountability for your crappy rooms and lack of hospitality. You never called back to address my issues. I still have the business...
Read moreThought it would be helpful to update the review of my 2nd stay. Was a little worried since I saw a negative review on someone 2nd stay, but I was happy my experience was just as good as my 1st stay. This time, I got the Pure Wellness room due to allergies. To be honest, I did not know these types of rooms were available in a hotel. The difference in the room air quality is noticeable, especially at sleep time, did not experience the muggy, and humidity oder I've experienced in other hotels. The room was very nice & clean. Upgraded bathroom, very nice & clean. Added a few pictures of room & pool area. No issues with front desk, kindness & and helpfulness, continued just as nice on 2nd stay. I mention help desk kindness in my reviews because, in my opinion, the front desk is the 1st contact on arrival. A not so nice, bitter, or just not welcoming person can ruin your entire stay. Thank you for being kind! The cleaning crew, in my opinion, continues to be excellent. The only slight miss was that the coffee machine was not cleaned. No big deal, a quick water & soap clean up + disfective wipe resolved. Overall most important for me when choosing a hotel is cleanliness. Express my thank you for your effort in keeping guest health in mind when cleaning; it is not an easy task. The hotel was full during my week stay. Used the hotel shuttle this time airport to hotel. Very nice respectful driver same as 1st stay 👍. Used the lounge restaurant a few times on this stay, too tired to go out after work, same as 1st stay, excellent service, nice, helpful with suggestions. Im not a big eater lean more toward smaller heathier options. The regular servings are large. Not a lot of small bits menu options but soup, salads & chicken sandwich was fine for me, everything was fresh. So, with all this said, 2nd stay overall remains as excellent! 👍✅️ My stay was for a 5-day business trip in March, arrived Sunday late afternoon, and was attended quickly, assigned room was excellent. I always worry about the cleanliness of the rooms since I suffer from allergies and very picky the kind that travels with clorox wipes and own pillow cases 😊. I was very happy the room assigned was extremely clean, for the cleaning squad staff 5+. The night staff was so kind & helpful. Ate 1 day in the lobby Cafe, hugh portions, food was very good. One day in the restaurant breakfast to go good as well. The staff in general was excellent, very kind, made me feel at ease & comfortable to reach out to ask questions & be attended with respect from front desk, restaurant, cafe, shuttle drivers & maintenance. We used hotels shuttle twice to take us to work building close by & pick up at the mall, driver punctual & respecful. Experienced 1 night hiccup with the air conditioner informed front desk in the morning when I got back from work it had been resolved. For me it was the best located hotel, the view from the balcony was nice. Definitely would stay again for upcoming trip,...

Our experience at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, we encountered nothing but issues and rude staff that made us feel completely unwelcome. The situation was so bad that when we gave feedback on our terrible stay, all the staff could say was, "It’s not my hotel." Clearly, customer service is not a priority here.
First, we were forced to switch rooms immediately upon arrival due to an overpowering sewage and drug smell. This was a huge inconvenience, especially since we were on a tight schedule. But that was just the beginning.
In our new room, the air conditioning was completely unreliable. During the day, it blasted cold air and froze us, but at night, it stopped working altogether, turning the room into a sauna. We couldn’t get a good night’s sleep, and it made our stay even more miserable.
To make matters worse, we believe my mom was bitten by a bed bug during our stay. After comparing her mysterious bite with a review from someone else who had the same issue, we became deeply concerned about the cleanliness of the hotel. Bed bugs should be a serious concern for any hotel, but here it seems like they’re overlooked. And don’t even let me start on the obnoxious sounds coming from multiple different rooms in the middle of the night. Nonstop sounds of doors being slammed open and shut, as well as unnecessary nonstop mocking for around 20 minutes at like 2am but then again no staff seamed to be bothered since this is “not there hotel”
As if all of that wasn’t bad enough, we found a condom outside our family room, despite there being children present. This was not only disgusting, but it also showed a complete lack of attention to detail and cleanliness in this hotel.(There is also trash thrown around the hotel especially the nasty elevators that look so bad they probably haven’t been cleaned since the day they were put it) “you can see the drips of oil or grease falling from the wall”
This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this location. The staff’s complete indifference to our concerns and the state of the property made it clear that this hotel is not concerned with providing a safe or comfortable stay. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.
Side note! This awful hotel charges you a round $20 THE NIGHT for parking even tho this Hilton isn’t even a resort (and it will never come close to it either)
Hilton Hotels has definitely fallen short of it expectations with our family! ( And as I can see all they do for you is write a generic response to your review) STAY AWAY AND LEEP YOUR FAMILY AND LOVE ONES SAFE FROM THIS NASTY AND UNWELCOMING...
