First and foremost I would like to just praise the ENTIRE staff at the AC Hotel in Tampa. Our trip literally was made so peaceful because of them even when we weren't on the property and for that I implore Marriott Corporate give them a raise and bonuses :-). ||We came down to Tampa for a wedding and got in a day early. We decided to stay at the AC Hotel near the airport to unwind before we traveled to the wedding hotel (another Marriott property). Upon just being picked up from the airport we felt super welcomed by the staff. Alejandra (who picked up up via the shuttle) really set the tone for the start of our stay in Tampa. She gave us all the best recommendations for the area. After the first night we were already sad we had to leave to go to the wedding hotel. They were so accommodating and really helpful. The rooms were VERY clean and pristine & housekeeping staff was also very friendly. We only had one major issue which was the thermostat not working, but Alejandra, Stephanie and the rest of the staff at the AC addressed it in whiplash time. In the blink of an eye the issue was resolved and it didn't require multiple calls to the front desk or constant back and forth. The whole staff at the AC hotel is very attentive and friendly and made it so we wanted to come back. ||We actually ended up canceling our last night at the wedding hotel and booking our departure stay at the AC (as its proximity to the airport is absolutely PERFECT). After wedding festivities at the other hotel and I can honestly say, it was an absolute RELIEF to be back at the AC. The amount of joy to be welcomed back by staff and the amazing aromatherapy scent throughout the hotel was GREATLTY welcomed. As I mentioned earlier the tone that was set by Alejandra and Stephanie upon our first night really allowed my husband and I to bear through the atrocities at the other hotel because we knew our trip was going to end with a more pleasant stay at the AC and their wonderful staff. ||Now for the property, as soon as you walk in you are greeted by the pleasant aroma therapy scent of "Between the Woods" which they sell in the onsite convenience store (we bought 2 candles). The scent really puts you at ease and lets you know you're in for a relaxing stay. My husband and I are from NYC where its always so busy, so we appreciated small details that cater to ones well being especially after flying. There is a laundry facility on site which is very clean and affordable ($3.50 - $4 for a wash and $3 for 45 min of drying), laundry bags are provided at the front desk. They have a small gym, 2 Peloton bikes for those who like Peloton, treadmill and elliptical along with Free weights and 1 multiuse weightlifting machine (its a small gym but great to get in that quick work out or cardio session), they provide head phones and towels. The pool is a nice size for relaxation and splashing around the water (deepest is 5ft). There is a contemporary / modern kitchen / lounge area called AC Kitchen (which charges $18 for breakfast) but breakfast includes their selection of European style buffet items and 1 order of an A la carte item. The AC lounge area is where you can get drinks and made to order food. When we were there it was always so busy but not to the point it seems stressful to get food and drinks. ||If on site hotel food is not your thing there are a bunch of restaurants around including Texas de Brasil and Cooper Hawk Winery both which are also excellent choices. There is a nail salon about a block away from the hotel AND a hair salon. The hotel is also conveniently located across from International Plaza Mall which you can either walk to (its about .7 miles) or arrange the hotel shuttle to drop you off or pick you up (we walked because to us it was like being back in NYC where everything is conveniently located). There is also free parking on site, but if you dont plan to drive its about a $15 Uber/Lyft ride to Downtown Tampa area so you will be fine. ||TL:DR - Book the hotel, you will have no regrets and get to have an amazing stress free time in Tampa with proximity to the airport and short cab ride to downtown when you arrive and time to leave. And the rooms and hotel look EXACTLY like the photos (Trip advisor wont let me upload the...

Wow is all I can say. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to be impressed, just a place to stay. After a week at the gulf beaches, We were simply staying the night to catch an early flight, but ended up enjoying ourselves immensely. We travel frequently and often stay at 4-5 star hotels. I rarely write reviews, but our exemplary experience deserves one.

First, The hotel is meticulously clean. The lobby is fun, trendy with a good atmosphere. As soon as we pulled up my mood lightened. The halls and rooms were spotless!! Great shower, super comfy beds. We loved there was no gross carpet in the room. The room and bathroom have an ultra clean design and zero clutter. This makes keeping your belongings organized much easier. My kids enjoyed the large, warm, clean pool for a late night swim. We sat out near the fire pit. Great bar area. Breakfast area looked awesome too. It was too early for us but there was Nespresso and many healthy offerings.

The bar/ lounge had fun live music and superb craft cocktails. I didn’t know the female bartenders name- but she was awesome! Attentive and skilled at complicated craft drinks !! My children sat at the lounge in the corner and a gentleman brought them over 2 lovely drinks. I immediately went over and he said that it was his pleasure to give them fancy lemonades and that they were “family friendly.” He introduced himself as Aaron the manager. I was in shock! How welcoming it was for him to personally go out if his way to make those drinks himself, deliver them to the kids and ultimately make all guests feel special. Now that is hospitality!

And when we departed at 6am, a wonderful man named Nick checked us out and shuttled us to the airport. There was no waiting and a ultra clean shuttlebus that got us to the airport in no time. Nick was warm and kind to our family when it was so early it was dark out.

So all in all- The staff at this hotel were amazing. Each and every person We encountered was helpful, kind, and SINCERE!! Such a welcome change!! The facility it self was clean and fun. I’m sold on the AC Marriott!! Great work everyone. We could feel the pride folks took in working there and that is what made the stay. Thank you for making our last night of...

Overall I liked this hotel. The front desk employees were friendly and provided prompt service at both check in and check out. However, there were some minor annoyances: 1. There are two elevators and one was out of service, leading to long waits going up and down. Frustrated by a delay, my girlfriend and I decided to walk down the stairs from the third floor. However, it led outside, not to the lobby, and the gate by the pool was locked. We had to walk around the property through the garage to get back to the front. 2. There is a coffee pot on top of the mini fridge but there's no outlet nearby, so I had to move it into the bathroom so as to not disturb my girlfriend when I woke up and wanted a coffee. 3. The lights are not intuitive at all. If all the lights are off and you want to turn on the reading light by the nightstand, you have to go by the front door in the dark and turn on the master light switch. Ridiculous. 4. I had no issue with the comforter but my girlfriend said it felt like "covering yourself in paper." There isn't much weight to it. 5. The lobby bar is spacious. However, it was woefully understaffed on a Saturday night, with just two bartenders and one waitress when an event was held. The waitress was overwhelmed and never came to take our order, and I had a fruitless attempt at procuring drinks at the bar, so we wound up leaving and giving our business to Miller Ale House a couple blocks away. Lost opportunity. Again, we liked the hotel overall, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Reservation canceled by hotel, predatory pricing and deceptive guarantees My reservation booked months in advance using a Marriott certificate was cancelled by the hotel and I was not notified. The day before I was sent an email by Marriott saying the room was ready for check-in. Only until after I arrived in Tampa I discovered the hotel wasn’t accepting guests following the storm. I tried calling the hotel but was redirected to speak with Marriott. I explained I was stranded and had no where to sleep that night and that the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee should mean I would be moved to a hotel that was accepting guests. It turns out if a hotel isn’t accepting guests Marriott will only sell you another room for a highly inflated price. I was offered a room 1.3 miles away at The Epicurean but was told I would have to pay $430 or over 50,000 points. This was very poor of the hotel to not communicate the cancellation of my reservation but understandable in the situation. Marriott refused to reaccomidate me - trying to sell me a new reservation, it’s sad to see to see the hotel exploit desperate hurricane victims. Further the hotel was unwilling to make things right after the fact, they refused to extend the certificate I booked with that expires in a few weeks and the manager I spoke with refused to compensate me with points toward a future booking. This hotels operates a predatory pricing and deceptive guarantees. Better to stay somewhere else, whatever you do don’t book direct!

Good afternoon! I booked AC Hotel by Marriott Tampa Airport from 10/27/2018 to 10/28/2018 for 5 people with With breakfast included in total price for all my family. When we checked in the front lady showed me the breakfast area and told me that breakfast will be $14 per person, I asked her to verify our reservation- because when I booked the hotel - it was the first thing that I was paying attention. She double checked in her system and confirmed that the breakfast was included. The next morning , the lady who served the breakfast told us again that breakfast will be extra $14 per person, I asked again to verify- she came back and told thy only 2 people included... I showed her email from booking in my telephone that reservation for 5 people and breakfast included. She made a double check and come back told us - that everything is okay- we just need to pay breakfast taxes. I understand everything, BUT In the world famous hotel , people behave very unprofessional and I felt embarrassed in front of my family. And who would bring the check to the guest with only taxes on it. By the way in was only 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel for 5 people. The hotel is very stylish and modern, food was amazing, but in the slow season, I think it’s possible to take care about every guest.-- Thank you!
