Rude front desk staff. On the day of our check in we were surprised to see there was no light in the whole hotel and people were sitting outside in their parked cars. There were stick lights and two people at the front desk. The guy told us that somebody crashed into an electric post(which was true. We saw that on our way and even the signal lights were off) and the power was disconnected for many blocks. So they had no access to their booking system and couldnt chk us in and we would have to wait in the lobby. By that time the lady, Jessica started yelling from behind to him, why are you checking thm in now. Then pointing to a lady again yelled, "she came here before them plus she got kids. You chk thm in first." The tone was horrible. Ok, we waited. I was amazed that such a big buiding did not have access to a secondary source of power like a generator. All the other properties had lights. Then after 10 minutes she comes and says, "my manager said we cant check in anybody anymore in the dark. there are no more rooms. We have no rooms. You have to leave and check in to some other hotel. I just gave the last room to that lady." We were stunned. We were there with another couple who had done the booking through hotwire and he had a confirmed and fully paid for the rooms booking. And during easter weekend where are tourists going to find rooms after 9 pm at night?? And she told this to another elderly couple who were just entering the hotel. And then, miracle happened, the lights came back on, and her tone changed. "Oh the lights are back, you dont have to go. We can check you in." Is this the proper way to behave with guests who may have been travelling whole day just to get to this hotel? I must say she was the only one who was rude and uniformly to everybody. The other guy was polite, calm and composed and handling people better, given that this lady was continously bossy and yelling at him. Please train staff to handle stressful situations. Please get a generator. We stayed here in 2 queen room no 430. Rooms and housekeeping and other staff are very good. Plus points for the staff who serve the breakfast buffet. They make sure that even ppl who come late get something to eat. Breakfast had boiled eggs, yogurt , scrambled eggs, omelette, lots of fruits, cake, bread, bagels, croissants...

Recently, we stayed at the hotel and left a JBL speaker in the room.
When we arrived home on Sunday, August 6th and unpacked, we realized that we did not have our JBL speaker, we immediately called the hotel – around 5:30pm and let them know we left the speaker sitting on the lamp. They mentioned that everyone left for the day and someone would call us back on Monday.
Monday, August 7th – no one called.
Tuesday, August 8th – Called the hotel at 4:30pm and was told no one found the speaker; however, everyone left for the day and to call back the following day. We mentioned someone was supposed to call us but did not.
Wednesday, August 9th – Called around 10am, was told no one found the speaker. Now… that speaker was 100% left in that room. There was no reason it was not found by housekeeping. Yes, our responsibility as we left it. However, the hotel’s responsibility was to find it – thus Lost & Found. When we were told, “nope, did not find it” I started thinking… that’s a too bad, so sad answer. It’s a $100 speaker that the hotel just washed their hands of without a care. So I called Marriott Titanium Elite telephone number and filed a claim. They said wait a week and we should hear a response.
Wednesday, August 16th – no response, not even an email saying a claim was open or active, anything. Very odd.
Saturday, August 19th – called Marriott Titanium to get information regarding the claim filed. They said they can’t do anything. Call/Email the hotel.
Monday, August 21st - emailed the General Manager of the hotel as suggested by the Marriott Titanium.
Thursday, August 22nd - resent email to GM of hotel plus posted this review.
We take full responsibility for leaving the speaker. Shouldn’t the hotel take some reasonability for not collecting the item? We were calling to provide a credit card to ship it back to us. I used to work in the hospitality industry, this is not uncommon – to leave items. It is uncommon to not find an item when a guest says exactly where it is, especially five hours after leaving the room.
I just think this has been handled as an "too bad, so sad" by the hotel and...
Read moreThe customer serviced at this location is terrible.I called the front desk after realizing that my showers were not working. They gave me a handicap room that has seating attached to the tub, it would have been extremely difficult for someone that was actually in need of the accomodation to take a bath. The room was not properly cleaned and there was hair in multiple locations of the tub,so I had not choice but to clean the entire room myself. I contacted the front office to inform them about the shower not being able to turn on and they told me that there wasn't anyone onsite that would be able to fix it for me, and that the best option for me would be to speak with the manager whom would be on site at 9am. When I was finally able to speak with a manager, they told me that they wouldn't be able to refund me since I booked with priceline. I then called priceline to see how they could accommodate me and they told me that I wouldn't be able to get a refund without the hotels approval. When priceline called fairfield, fairfield told them that they could not do anything about it since I already stayed in the room. Priceline, then contacted the General manager and the general manager told them that they couldn't do anything because I didn't file a complaint with the front desk, when I in fact did. The front desk associate told me that they wouldn't be able to refund me because they didn't have my card on file, when the front desk associate asked for my debit card upon check in without informing me of the reason, I assumed that they needed the card used to book the room and my id to confirm my identity, but I later learned that it was to charge me a $20 deposit. They most definitely had my card information on file, because I was able to charge a drink to my room. They are doing everything in their power to avoid taking...
