let me start off by saying nicki and k soho salon are the best there is and i will not be taking my business anywhere else ever again. i had the best experience of my life in a salon yesterday and i could go on for hours but i’ll try to make it as short as i can.
i just moved to tampa and was looking for someone and somewhere to have my hair chopped, lightened, and trimmed again (not the official terms of course); luckily i found nicki at k soho salon. i called the salon and was taken back by how informative, helpful, and kind they were. i got an appointment right away to fit into my annoyingly busy schedule. i got to the salon and immediately felt like i was safe and welcome which is huge for me because i was already so nervous for such a drastic change to my hair. nicki and i clarified everything i wanted done, she asked me if i was ready, and she went to work. there wasn’t a dull moment from the second i sat in that chair. nicki made sure i was constantly informed about the process while simultaneously having some of the best and funniest conversations i’ve had in a while. she also went above and beyond to make sure i was comfortable and didn’t need anything. i hadn’t eaten all day and been up for work since 5am (it was 3:30) and nicki asked one of the other staff members if they could go across the street to get me food so i could eat before starting my second job at 5pm. the outright care, generosity, and kindness of everyone i met in the salon was honestly shocking to me. i’ve never felt so taken care of.
finally once my hair was done nicki of course wanted her instagram pictures so she blew out my hair and gave me some beach waves which were absolutely gorgeous and i instantly fell in love with nickis work. i just wet my hair today a day later and let it dry naturally before officially deciding that this is the best my hair has ever looked. thank you for sharing your talent with my hair nicki and thank you for the enormous confidence boost. i feel so much...
Read morei was SUPPOSED to have an appointment here with nicky, who's apparently the owner, and it was confirmed through a phone call, to do my hair the day before i left to go out of state for a wedding, but the time that they put in the computer was different from the time that they told me on the phone by 15 minutes. This may not seem like much, but when you're driving 45 minutes for a hair appointment that "only allows a 15 minute grace period", it's a big deal. So i texted my stylist to tell her i was on my way but i was stuck behind an accident and id be a few minutes late to the appointment, the time that we had booked ON THE PHONE, only for her to now tell me that my appointment was actually scheduled for 15 minutes earlier and that i shouldn't bother coming in and she could reschedule it for another day. I thought that maybe i was wrong, maybe i got the time wrong, but luckily i had the phone on speaker when i made my hair appointment with my mother in the room, and she put it in her calendar as well for the same time that i had down. I was already almost there, and I live 45 minutes away. I begged and pleaded, i told her i was almost there, i told her my situation with the wedding and that i was leaving tomorrow, saying that id take services off and not get a haircut if she could just do my roots. I was literally in the parking lot of the salon, but she said no repeatedly, despite it being in the grace period of my ACTUAL APPOINTMENT TIME. Thanks a lot nicky!! I will NEVER try this place again and i would NEVER recommend it to a friend, as they are not accommodating, so i can only imagine how they'd react if you didn't like how your hair turned out 🫣 after reading other reviews, apparently this girl has claimed people are "mentally abusing" her and then she blocks them on instagram after she ruins their day and apparently butchers their hair if she gets the opportunity, so i guess her canceling might have...
Read moreThis perm was supposed to be my 17th birthday gift and I was supper excited to get it. Me and my best friend drove 2 hours away just to get it done. My hair before I got it done was shoulder length, not too thick not to thin. When the lady put in the curlers, that were way to loose and she was rough. As she went to put in the perm solution she didn’t put any cotton around my head to protect my skin from getting burnt so the solution was all over my neck, ears, and almost got in my eye if I didn’t wipe it off. After she put two bottles of solution (unevenly) around my hair, she left the building and didn’t come to check on me for about 35-45 minutes. When she finally came back she started taking out the curlers and my best friend was looking at me like something was wrong. She washed my hair and put a lot of products in it when it was still basically straight. When she started to brush it, my hair was falling out in clumps and felt like elastic. So she decided to wash my hair again and put even more products in it. As it was time to pay they tried to charge me $260+tip for the horrible job that was done. I payed $65 when I should just not have payed at all. My hair a day later is super frizzy, hard to brush, and straight. I do NOT recommend anyone getting a perm from this...
