I stumbled upon this place tonight. Glad I did.
This place had all the elements of a mom and pop chinese takeout spot.
I know weāve all had dozens of Chinese takeout experiences before but when was the last time you paused and said dang that Chinese food was on point!
I entered and the first thing you see is those old school Chinese restaurant menus with the generic dish photos. The clerk taking the orders was a young teenage gentleman the parents in the back all you hear is the wok going got the place smelling good.
We all know Chinese is not healthy option but I was in the mood for some comfort food. I was so hungry and with options being lesser late I was willing to take the risk.
I got the beef and broccoli with fried rice and an egg roll with egg drop soup.
The order was cooked in 10 minutes and when my order was packing up he asked if I wanted sauce. This place is no McDonalds. They arenāt stingy with the soy sauce and everyoneās favorite duck sauce. He proceeded to give me handfuls of everything napkins, sauces and even a spoon fork. He gave me an unhealthy amount of sauces. itāll be nice to restock my fridge. When I picked up the bag, I almost threw my shoulder out. So much food for 1!
When I unboxed everything it was steaming hot, the food tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection equal amounts of beef and broccoli. The Broccoli was steamed and cooked just right. The texture was on point with good pieces and the beefās sauce complimented it all well. The rice was really good too plenty of it. The egg drop soup was so hot almost burned my mouth at first but once settled after a few sips of that and you were feeling warm š. The egg roll had a great fry to the outside when you bit into it very crunchy and iāve had egg rolls where itās too wet on inside with wet vegetables and not fried right. This one was crunchy the whole way through. Great taste and non greasy. That pairing with the duck sauce š¤š»
Oh and the price reasonable too. $15 dollars in this economy for what couldāve been two meals If i wasnāt so hungry and it was so good.
Would recommend for a good, tasty take out Chinese with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest Chinese takeout in the Tampa area. Iāve tried numerous Chinese places with hopes the food would be similar to NYC or Chicago. This place is it . Huge portions, affordable and authentically Chinese . Food is not unnecessarily sweetened. Perfect flavor and wok hei . I try a different dish each time and they have all been good. Lots of meat and veggies. Meats are juicy and super tender . The shrimps are medium size and not the super tiny flavorless ones. I love their lunch specials on weekdays and Saturdays. Their fried rice looks like Spanish rice but the flavor is all Chinese . Untill I found this place, I was not happy with the Caribbean Chinese fried rice served in most restaurants. But this is the best . Their chili oil is also good and they donāt nickel and dime you for sauces . The area has been pretty safe for me . People ordering carry out coming and going and Iāve never felt anything but safe . So donāt let the area deter you. Just a few blocks away are million dollar homes so Iāve never been worried . Foods to try- anything on their lunch menu ( use their website to make substitutions like getting lo mein instead of fried rice ) Singapore noodles Yat Gaw mein - chicken noodle soup with crisp tender veggies, flavorful broth and tender chicken. TIP: it is almost always busy so order 30-40 minutes ahead...
