The (Bro Bowl)Perry Harvey Sr. Park Skate Park aka “Bro Bowl 2.0” was formally dedicated to the public on April 16, 2016. The original “Bro Bowl” was one of the first public skate parks in Florida, built in the 1970’s and the first skate park to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. Ultimately though, the City of Tampa was in favor of demolishing and relocating the skate park to honor Tampa’s once thriving black business districts by creating “Perry Harvey Sr. Park” to include statues, murals and other interactive artwork. The bowl’s original location was right in the middle of an area with historic roots to the African-American community’s business and cultural tradition in Tampa. City officials have long preferred to make the park a place to honor that history and relocate the bowl.

Only 2 park employees since it opened always came in and cleaned the skatepark. The white lady and a cool brotha and neither work here anymore. EVERYONE AFTER THEM AND THE KID NOW ON THE JOHN DEERE DON'T CLEAN ANYTHING. THEY DRIVE UP TURN AROUND AND NEVER COME BACK TO CLEAN. TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR JOB AND YOUR CITY. WHY IS THIS PARK THE BUM HOTEL NOW?!

Great concrete park definitely worth your time. Mostly street oriented but does include a nice half bowl not too steep. Great transitions but much better if you can show up early in the morning with few people to avoid. It’s free and it’s great. I only wished there was a flat box somewhere to practice grinds.

Took 3 of my Grandchildren here. We all had a nice time. It was clean, and plenty of benches available for resting. There were young children, all the way to late 20's, all enjoying the skate area. Bikes, scooters, inline skates, skateboards. I was Amazed by the way they all interacted and respected each person's space and safety. There are plenty of recepticals for Trash. And Best of All, it's a Free...
