DO NOT USE THIS BOAT RENTAL SERVICE. Andrea, the owner/âCFOâ, quotes a price for costumers over the phone/ through text so that they will make a reservation. Once you arrive, it is the staff that has to let you know that the price you were quoted was not correct and that you will have to pay the âcorrectâ price in order to get the rental for the amount of people and time you originally requested. We asked to speak with Andrea since she handles bookings and reservations and we had the conversation with her via text where she quoted us the price. I would like to just say that if this business wants to stay afloat, Andrea needs to hire somebody who handles her costumer service and bookings because she is going to drive this business into the ground. Her lack of professionalism is astounding and I have never experienced such a direct attack on my character and disdain from a business owner towards their costumers. Even though we had the quoted price in writing, Andrea did not only not honor that price but also was extremely rude and argumentative towards all of our group. She told us she felt attacked and reacted aggressively because she has a short temper but honestly we did not sign up to be her therapists. Once I told her that we would be expressing our feelings via a review she then threatened to not allow us to rent the boat at all and deny us service. To top it all of, the boatâs topper came off as soon as we sped off from the bay; one of the workers had to come and zip tie it for us so that we could continue. Finally, once we were out and jumped off the boat into the water, we noticed that the boatâs registration was expired which couldâve resulted in a ticket if we had been stopped. Thankfully, the workers were pretty nice, Hunter, Jeff and Joe were not able to help with the major issues but made sure to make our overall experience positive. This is a bait and switch and a company taking advantage of costumers. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL SERVICE. Andrea needs to...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of trying out numerous jet ski rental services in Tampa Bay over the years, and my recent experience at this particular spot leaves a bit to be desired.
First off, the cost is somewhat on the high end compared to other places I've been. They add on an extra fee if you have a second rider, and there's an expectation for tipping. This, coupled with parking costs of $7 per hour for non-hotel guests, considerably inflates the overall expense.
Another element that dampened the experience was the feeling of constant supervision by the staff. While they permit you to explore and enjoy the waters freely, it's hard to shake off the feeling of being constantly watched, somewhat detracting from the sense of freedom and adventure.
A significant downside to this rental service is the long no wake zone that eats into your ride time. The zone takes around 10 minutes to traverse at 3mph, meaning if you book an hour, you end up with just 35-40 minutes of actual free riding.
The jet skis provided also fell short of my expectations. They seem to be more economy models, lacking the speed and performance I've enjoyed at other rental places. Several competitors offer higher-end models capable of greater speeds at lower prices, and without extended no wake zones or extra rider fees, which improves the overall experience.
Despite these issues, I still found enjoyment in the activity, as jet skiing is inherently a fun pastime. However, based on my experience, I believe there are better options available in Tampa Bay. Future customers may want to consider these factors before...
