This review is for the crew that came out to remove a mylar balloon and its string from the power line behind my mom's house in Detroit. I regret not getting their names. I don't even know which DTE they came from, but this is the only one nearby that's open at this time. Anyway, 4 guys showed up. They were very polite and easy to talk to. I asked for them to also remove an old power line that's been hanging behind the garage for years, and they said they can try to detach it or cut it shorter. I would have understood if they couldn't get it, but they cut the line all the way up to the loop. It's a relief to walk behind the garage and not have an old power line hitting me in the face. I didn't have much faith in DTE until these guys showed up.
The reason why I didn't have much faith in DTE is because I called about the balloons 3 or 4 days ago (maybe longer) when they were freshly filled with helium. There were three of them spread across the 3 lines, and every time the wind blew I could hear the lines arcing. The buzzing sound went on for a few days or so until 2 balloons disappeared and all that was left was a single deflated balloon wrapped around one line. That's when the crew showed up. I do not feel like they were at fault. I feel like the message wasn't relayed to them in a timely manner. To me, the call should have been priority.
In the end, nothing bad came from the buzzing balloons, and I had a very pleasant encounter with the guys that came out to resolve the problem. Now, someone needs to take care of the vines across the alley that have reached the transformer. Please...
Read moreThis Monopoly has to be toppled! What good is there to say right before the storm I was reading about how they're going to steal some people's land one woman actually had a DT employee tell her we're going to take your land and your house! They're hiring tree removal businesses to trim trees incorrectly if you drove around and looked at the storm damage you notice most of the trees that were on lines were trees that they trimmed you can't just cut the top off a tree and say it's good have to seal it! this is my second time having power outage for over 5 days first time cost me a $2,000 fridge $200 in groceries second time cost me $300 in groceries but hey I may get $35 if they actually put in the...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. Tech comes out to my house today, removes the meter on AC unit after I asked them to be taken off their power management program. Instead of doing their job, they leave the wiring controlling my thermostat disconnected. When I call them they blame me and say I should have known and that would happen and I will have to hire a master electrician to fix what they screwed up. DTE doesn't care about their paying customers, they only care about you if you owe them money. Their customer service is rude, arrogant, and ignorant. This is the true representation of the worst that Michigan business has to offer. No integrity, no responsibility, only blame shifting...
