Sunrise Coney Island — Restaurant in Taylor

This was the first and last time going to this quaint diner. I ordered a basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. The eggs were browned(didn't ask for well done eggs, they just came that way), the bacon very well done( didn't ask for well done bacon), I did, however ask for well done hashbrowns and they were served regular. Basically, a breakfast that I could cook and I'm not a breakfast cook. Also, the service was subpar at best. There is only 1 server for the whole restaurant, even though it is a very small place, one can't give the best service when they are stretched thin. I was a server for almost 2 decades and she was more focused on chatting with regulars than giving everyone attentive service. She didn't check on me and I had to flag her down to get what i needed. I'm a great tipper, but today eating by myself I left $3. I pretty much always leave $5 or $6 when I'm alone. I won't be back. Our food was absolutely and arrived promptly hot and smelling delicious! Our waitress, the only one there, was pleasant enough but could have been a little better with the coffee refills and after setting our food down she never returned until an empty plate placed on the table edge signaled her to remove it at which point she dropped the check off without another word. She wasn't Unfriendly but definitely would make better tips by engaging her customers in a bit of small talk or at the very least asking how everything was and if we wanted anything else! I also assume the crabby uppity older lady who can't even muster up a fake smile to those spending their hard earned money with her who gave her one first! I'll give them a second shut but I don't give a third in the customer service industry, too many little places struggling that APPRECIATE us and our hard earned dollars! Trying to place an order over the phone is like pulling teeth i feel bad for the owners not sure if they are aware of how much business they lose from the attitude of their servers. It's like the server didn't want people to order then when I asked for sausage patties she said are you even sure your ordering from the right place we do not have patties and just adding in we are cash only are you sure you want to order?? Like whattttt then I said just forget it cancel the order she changed her full attitude and was happy I was canceling it's sad orders make money and keep the business going if you don't want to people to order then you don't make money.
